Owners are lovely people. We liked having our own kitchen. This is not a luxury accommodation, but the location was wonderful. No complaints. We went on a full day snorkeling tour that they recommended and it was just the best!!

This place has some positive reviews, which tricked me into booking it for my two night stay. The photos do not reflect the reality, there is basically no view, unless you go upstairs to their neglected terrace, it is located right of the road, property needs basic updates, at least change the toilet seat, and bathroom accessories, everything is in beat up shape, pillow case had stains, air conditioning is in one room only, worn out furniture from 70’s, dirt, cobweb, ants everywhere. Stay away please.

Unexpected

The pictures do not reflect the propriety. We were really surprised once arrived. Next to the main street so really noisy. Fare from the city. You also need to pay for the AC... Alain is really friendly nice and helpful.

Owners very helpful and available to transport. They speak mostly French but we could communicate our needs in English. They had all ammenities we needed. 5 min walk to the bay where we snorkled with Manta Rays. We hiked from the property to the top of Papoti mt. with a spectacular view. Small patisserie in walking distance.l It's North East on the main island and away from South tourist areas so count on 2000-3500xpf for cab or rides each way for shopping, restaurants and the more crowded beaches. Some traffic and dog noise at night with windows open, but AC is available for a fee. We had a great stay for a good price.

Enjoyed my stay at Bora Vaite Lodge! Alain and his wife were very welcoming. The room was clean and the bed large and comfortable. I thought the stained bed sheet was probably ready to be thrown away though. There was plenty of room in the communal areas and the kitchen was well stocked. Breakfast is included which was a nice touch! Was only in Bora two nights and didn’t have transport but Alain is able to offer lifts to town for a small fee which was very helpful as the ‘pinpoint’ on Hotels.com and Expedia is incorrect - it is not in Vaitape.

I stayed 6 night with Alain and Vaite. They are super friendly, cheerful and relaxed people who are amazing hosts and they go above and beyond to make the guests happy. I felt welcomed and well looked after. Alain is happy to help with transportation and he could drive me to the town and back at any time with a smile on his face. The breakfast was surprisingly good and generous, the variety of fruit options was amazing. The property is spacious with a terrace with an amazing view to the ocean and it was the favourite breakfast spot for everyone. Evenings we had nice chats and often Alain and Vaite also joined the discussion and shared tips, ideas or just said some kind words. Amazing experience, I will definitely be back.

5 stars plus deluxe

Wow, extraordinary stay here. I was lucky to have the whole top floor of the house with great terrace for me alone in off season and Alain and Vaite are amazing hosts, so welcoming and helpful, taking me around whenever I needed a ride, wonderful breakfast at the terrace prepared each morning including fresh flowers in the house every day, manta rays just in the bay of the house and great hike spot around as well: 5stars plus deluxe, need to come back (and bora is just beautiful)

This is a lovely, friendly, relaxed place to stay. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Shared bathroom between three rooms always has hot water. Wifi works. The owner Alain is incredibly helpful and makes a lovely breakfast each morning. Only drawback for me is the location - northeast on the main island and no shops or restaurants in the evening so you need a car or scooter to reach things. Note - the EXPEDIA MAP IS WRONG as it incorrectly shows the place just north of the main town when it is in fact 11k away.

Alain is an awesome host. Very friendly and attentive, always making sure you have everything you need. The location is a little far from restaurants or the beach, but note that most/all restaurants will arrange a free return taxi ride if you dine with them, also Alain drove us and picked us up during the day (for small fee) To have more independence a scooter/car is better, but not essential. Else, the breakfast was really good and has nice view of lagoon. Would recommend!
