Beautiful charming hotel close to the downtown core and market.
The only negative was the hot tub was not working and not heated we reported it but it wasn’t fixed and I had booked the property with this hot tub specifically.
1 night here. The free wine and beer and snacks are AMAZING. Hotel is super cool with lots of character. Beds could be better and it could be a little cleaner for the price. Overall very good. The parking lot is a decent walk away. Place is in a good location with lots of food options
Great location, Comfortable beds, hot shower, simple breakfast & easy courtyard access made this a great choice for ease of exploring Charlestons offerings.
Unprecedented winter storm put a dent in our Charleston explorations —but the hotel staff were incredibly cheerful & helpful
I really really liked the wine & cheese hour and the hot chocolate and cookie service at night. Breakfast was just okay. I would have liked more hot food options. I would have liked to check out the hot tub, but it was pretty cold at night, and the water seemed just lukewarm. I was really put off by two things: #1. At check-in, the desk person was kind of rude or maybe just indifferent. She didn’t seem to want to be there or care that I was there. Later, I asked the same person for another pillow (only 2 in the room?!), and she told me that a lot of people requested pillows, so I might not get one. What?! It just seems unbelievable that a hotel wouldn’t have enough pillows. And guess what? I didn’t get one the first night. I will say, however, we stayed for two more nights, and that person was never at the desk again. Every other staff person I encountered was absolutely lovely and went out of their way to be accommodating. (I did finally get my extra pillow!) #2: The parking lot for the hotel is blocks away. This would definitely be really challenging for people with limited mobility. It was also expensive. There was a pay lot right behind the building (not managed by the hotel), and I didn’t check, but I wonder if it would have been cheaper or similarly priced. It certainly would have been more convenient. I would probably stay at this hotel again if the rates were reasonable.
Enjoyed my stay at the Meeting Street Inn. You can’t ask for a better location, room was comfortable, and staff were extremely friendly. I only have 2 complaints…1. The smell of the lobby was entirely too overpowering and 2. The parking. Valet was $49 a night and self parking was $25 a night. I chose the self parking but in the end didn’t use it. I felt it was entirely too far from the hotel and ended up paying to park in the lot RIGHT NEXT TO the hotel.
Old hotel with outside walkways for access to room 315. Room rug shed like an old dog. Room heat was via thru-wall unit, noisy and blowing lots of cold air before heat. Breakfast was meager without eggs or waffles or sausages. Cheap feeling. Cereal + cold milk, hot tea water. No oj or apple juice. For a hotel at this $$$ room rate it leans heavily on its history instead of having expected level of services. Needs an upgrade. I would not stay here again even if the price was 1/2 the rate. Old does not replace modern convenience and upscale amenities
Such a little gem. Rooms were nice, the hotel courtyard was very pretty. The complimentary breakfast was good, and the happy hour was a nice surprise, as was the hot chocolate bar in the evening. Staff was pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.
