Below Average Experience at Sonesta

Our stay at Sonesta ES Suites Charlotte Arrowood was not the best. Upon arrival, our room smelled very musty, and did the entirety of our stay unless we cranked the AC super low. The bathroom had broken tiles that would move when you walked over them, the bathroom door was water damaged and the soap left near the sink was already used. The dishes in the kitchen area were also not clean, so we had to clean them ourselves before use. We did not have enough towels (were provided two SMALL bath towels), and simply asked for another, but the hotel front desk said there were not any available. I don't think three SMALL towels for two people is much to ask for. The staff was generally rude, short and there were always people hanging around the front area inside and outside. Plug ins in the nightstands were super loose and would hardly hold a plug in. No chair for the desk. Overall just not up to par for the price we paid. We would not stay here again.

There was blood stains on the pillow. No ice bucket in freezer. One knife and one fork in the kitchen. You have to get ice from the front desk. I won’t be back.

Our coffee pot did not work. Either did the ice maker. The light over the table did not work. Breakfast was good. We have a large dog and we were put up front right next to the elevator which meant alot of noise and alot of movement outside our windows so we had to keep the drapes closed.

Dont stay here

1st checked in my i saw a roach on the wall. I told the front desk i wanted another room. My room was horrible. Next to elevators and lobby across from breakfast area. People all hours would come in after drinking and would be loud waking me most nights. My room had no blow dryer or coffee pot.when i asked for one i received a blow dryer. I asked 3 more times and received a coffee pot. Only to find that it was broken and did not work. Night 5 i realized the ice machine is dropping ice continuously it didnt stop when full. I opened the freezer only to have ice fall out all over the floor. The ice machine was broken no bar to stop it from making ice. I again told the front desk and a guy came and totally disconnected it. No more ice. The garbage disposal was broken. And i had no forks spoons or knives in the kitchette. I asked for my room to be vacuumed and new clean bedding. I booked for a 21 day stay. After 7 days nothing.. would not give me clean linen or vacuum. I asked 3 different people but nothing. I never once saw security any where. And employee that works night shift like to whistle while he worked with no regard to people sleeping at 3 4 or 5 am. These employees could care less about guests that stay here. They are loud. I ended up leaving early. The Marijuana that lingers in the hall ways and when you walk past stairways is discussing.

The pool and outside area was nothing like the picture. Very deceiving. I didn’t feel safe to go into the back to just hang out. No staff around. Our counters were not wiped upon arrival. There was a used wash clothe hanging up in the shower. Could have been missed of course but little details were definitely missed.

The room was not up to my expectations. The front office staff were unfriendly and indifferent. I had an unexpected $150.00 hold charge to my credit card for any damage that may occur. I had to call customer service several times to get the charge removed. It took persistence to get the charge off my credit card. I had to tell them I left the room in that same condition I found it and I will dispute this with my credit card if it wasn't removed. After an online search of this hotel I discovered many people had their $150 hold never returned to them. I will never stay at a Sonesta again because they don't care about their customers.
