Borg El Arab Airport is located about twenty-five miles southwest of Alexandria's city centre and is the only major airport serving Alexandria while the Alexandria International Airport is closed for redevelopment. Shuttle buses and taxis service this airport, but it is not on a major bus line or train line. Do what you can to arrange for car hire or shuttle service before you arrive to minimize transportation difficulty.
