The room was clean and spacious, what spoilt it was the uncomfortable bed and awful pillows. One of the lifts was out of order so waiting for the one lift in a very busy hotel was tedious

One of the lifts was out of order and had been in this state for at least 5 days. This left the hotel with one lift and being busy we were unable to access lift at busy times. On time if checkout it took us 5 attempts to use the lift as it was full every time

Pretty basic for the price

Generally the hotel was ok..There are 2 lifts to use, but only one was working. We weren't told about this until we went up to our room, so one lift between the whole building was a bit of a nightmare at times. You could be waiting a while if it was full every time it stopped. Allegedly this had been out of order for 5 days. Also breakfast time could do with being extended to about 10am, as everyone seems to rush to get in which causes people waiting around for quite a while to be seated.

Broken lift

We booked in last Friday. On arriving we noticed there was only one lift working. We had to wait for 3 cycles of the lift to get to our room. Getting down was worse. Every time the lift arrived at our floor it was full. We eventually got down and went into MC. When we returned late afternoon the queue for the lift was back into reception. We tried to go back out but the lift was continually full. My wife is disabled and suffers with Spinal stenosis. She really struggles walking down stairs as it jars her back. As we could not get a lift and the stairs were a problem for her we decided to return to our room. In the morning we could not get a lift again. As we needed to leave I had to assist my wife down the stairs. The lift issue ruined our weekend break. I would like our stay refunding.

The greeting and service of a icicle.

We were stopping for sons graduation and arrived at 2.15 to be greeted by a spotty youth with the charm of a house brick telling us that no rooms were available before 3pm unless we paid a fee ... which means rooms ARE available. We explained that we had to get changed into our suit and dress, but all he was interested in was getting £20 off us for overnight parking. We were eventually told by his much more engaging colleague that we can changed on the toilets. £180 a night, plus £20 parking, to get changed in a toilet. Then to make it worse the reception area was like an ice box. Never again ... The room was lovely and the rest of the staff very nice but the basics are wring. Motel One down the road have check in at 1 and can't do enough for you, the bar area is much nicer too.
