Room was basic and there was rubbish left under the bed from previous guests, only lighting was two small bedside lamps which had been smashed up. Bed was very uncomfortable. Unbelievably noisy, karaoke until the early hours (sounded like it was coming from somewhere inside the hotel?), woken in the middle of the night by a deafening smoke alarm because other guests were smoking indoors, people that weren't staying at the hotel hanging around in corridors (presumably for warmth?). Overall I was uncomfortable and felt unsafe. Wouldn't stay again.

Great location near station but hotel needs updating. Bathrooms better than bedrooms. Windows don’t close and wear and tear and old fashioned hotel. Security staff and some reception were great ( Sat night/ Sunday am) although Oskar was very grumpy at check-in and abrupt in responding to basic questions - can I leave my luggage. Response of course in a rather condescending way.

The room was very noisy with the sound of the lifts continuously moving and the room had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke which made the stay uneasy

I checked out after 2 hours. The room was disgusting. Mould everywhere, wallpaper peeling, the door to the hotel room appeared damaged. Worst of all, the ceiling appeared water logged, with a large brown stain directly over the bed. I did NOT feel safe in the room and went to another hotel.

Hotel is lovely. Our room was nice and comfortable and clean. Yes its a bit tired here and there but thats to be expected in large old hotel. The only complaint I have is that the restaurant was closed because they didn't have any bookings. We weren't aware that you had to book so just a heads up.

The hotel car park is not free, and I was also charged £20 for two nights' parking, despite the hotel advertising free parking. In addition to this, I was also charged £7 for room tax, which was not advertised until I checked in.

Room was lovely and warm, staff excellent lovely hotel! Felt like I was in "The Shining" walking through the corridors. Lol. Only gripe I had was running the shower for at least 35 minutes just to get a tepid shower. Not great.
