Stayed for 2 nights after visiting in the past and have to say the hotel has gone massively downhill. The rooms are unkempt, shabby and dirty. They all need a deep clean and redecoration.
We had to move from the first (‘luxury’) room because there was no heating. I’ve attached photos of the second room so you can see for yourself. Again described as ‘luxury’.
I didn’t take pictures of the bar or reception area, but the decorations in there are thick with dust and dirt. There are much nicer hotels in Liverpool to stay at and I’d recommend you book somewhere else.
Booked last minute. We paid £280 for 1 night in a deluxe room for 4 people.
Reception staff were lovely and really helpful. The reception was amazingly decorated. Loved the flowers and the huge gorilla. Thats where it ended really.
The room was really worn. Two massive cracks in the sink, mould on the curtains, dust on most things, wooden flooring coming up and flaking. Couldnt open the window as it was locked. Tv hasnt any channels.
I understand the price for the location but it really needs a good clean and modernising. Even in the toilets in the bar area was badly worn. Im glad i stayed for the fact it was on tv show... id proberly stay elsewhere if i come back to liverpool... which was a blast 😍
Bar closed 10.30 as noone was in so couldnt get a night cap drink after being to football match also bar was part of same room as restaurant

Beautiful hotel but the dining room staff weren't very helpful. Expected better breakfast and hospitality for the price. Also no complimentary water in the room.
