Nice, but in need of update

Clean hotel though near 10 years since updated. Could definitely use update. No coffeemaker in room and coffee only available in lobby 6-10 am, which is a bit confusing. Great location for theatre and red line to Wrigley.

The people were exceptionally nice! Every staff member we spoke to was extremely friendly and helpful. They were also able to check us in early which was great and they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. My biggest complaint was around the room cleanliness - dust so thick on the side table I could wipe my finger through it, hair all over the shower, and the leather bed frame was peeling little flakes all over the bed - it was in seriously bad shape. The carpet was also not great but to be expected with a large hotel and I know a lot of times age of the carpet is out of housekeeping’s control

so I gotta say The royal sonesta river north in particular is amazing it feels more like a hotel, it feels like a small community and all the staff and guest know each other. The front desk woman Gabby is amazing and dope as heck. Shaunda is a travel guide there, shes hilarious and gave us wonderful recommendations in the area. Antwonne is a dope Bellman great service and attitude. Every detail was perfect Jessenia apart of the housekeeping staff has such good attention to detail when it came to fixing up and cleaning the room everything was so organized and neat. Now to the room it couldn't have been more perfect they upgraded us to the luxury suite and it was beautiful (use the tub as much as you can)

We would have preferred having a coffee maker in room without asking for one. Would have loved room service which you don’t offer. Would have liked the bar open more than it was. Other than that, we loved your hotel & our room. Thank you!

Not sure why this property is rated so high. I’ve stayed in a few hotels in Chicago and this is by far the worst. I found the room dirty, smelly, and old. The pillows are so uncomfortable. Housekeeping was rude and insisted I need to checkout when I have written confirmation that I got late checkout. Mind you the housekeeper was asking me very rudely when I was leaving before it was even regular checkout time at 10 am. Entire experience here was uncomfortable.

Beautiful hotel with a lovely room , beautiful views and conveniently close to Chicago landmarks. Close to the train station and many restaurants. Staff was extremely helpful. My family and I had a great stay!

Disappointed but an okay stay

This hotel was not what was depicted online. The room was small, we never had housekeeping any of our 4 nights, the room was dusty, and the pool was closed (drained & didn’t look like it was opening anytime soon). The immediate area is not as nice as Michigan Avenue or on the river. It is convenient to CTA though. We will spend a little more money next time and stay in a better hotel. I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rooms were very clean and spacious! The inside of the property was very clean, staff were extremely helpful and caring! The area around/ outside didn't feel the safest, they did have a security guard outside at all times. I would not stay in this location with our children again because of safety concerns.
