I didn’t stay in my room the first day at all due to being at the hospital with my grandmother. I asked for a refund for that since I never set foot in the room on Thursday. They said no and would give me complimentary breakfast. I can buy my own breakfast.

I had a nice stay. My room was clean. The hotel was clean and the second best thing was parking, there were no issues and plenty of parking. I must’ve went on a good night, especially to be a Friday because it was nice and quiet. And last, but not least the front staff was really nice.

The location was good… It was clean… It was just a really weird set up. The room faced the window, but the TV was on the left side so it was awkward. I was happy to see. I was able to connect my Netflix to the TV though which was nice. The coffee maker was subpar and the coffee wasn’t very good at all. A small microwave would’ve been a nice touch as well. The hotel itself was nice enough and I will go back, but I will ask for a different room.

Party of kids in lobby were disruptive during the check in. A 2 hour cooler for a refrigerator. Room smelled like chlorine, a can of soda was $5, yes $5.

Marriott‘s new policy regarding “free breakfast“ is similar to that of a parent who has a stepchild they don’t like. If you pay the super expensive price that Marriott charges for their rooms, you get a breakfast for free but if you get it through Expedia or another online partner they will charge you full price for breakfast that is supposed to be free. When I say they charge you, that is not an understatement. For example an egg on a roll is north of $14! In the future I will look more carefully to see what other brands are available and I won’t be as quick to stay at a Courtyard by Marriott.
