Great place to stay

Had a great stay, both while travelling for work and while my partner came to visit for the weekend. Conveniently located, with a lot of nice restaurants and cafe's at walking distance. Staff were amazing!

This hotel has a cool vibe but unfortunately, we didn’t love it for two reasons. One: the bed felt like you were sleeping on a block of wood - it was too hard (and I prefer a firmer mattress). And two: the street noise is excessive. While this isn’t controlled by the hotel, there’s no A/C (like many European hotels) so windows open are necessary in the summer, and the yelling and sirens at all areas of the night were a turn off.

Such a cute hotel! The family room is very nice and spacious. The decor is very attractive and relaxing. Amenities are all very nice and thoughtful - from toothbrushes to slippers, hairbrushes and water bottles. This is very cute boutique hotel!

Really great quirk hotel, super Eco-wise. Great staff. Amazing location not too deep in the tourist stuff, but close enough.. but also really close to Vesterbro and all the great stuff there. 1 block from Copenhagen central station. ideal. Would deffo go again - just make sure you take an eye mask as it gets very bright at 4am :)

My room was like an oven. With max temps of 23c I was shocked to arrive to my room and it be like a sauna. No aircon only a fan, I opened all the windows but still very warm. The sustainability of this property comes at a cost to comfort and your wallet. Very expensive for what you get. Lovely breakfast but doesn’t make up for the lack of comfort and also location isn’t that close to the main attractions

Lovely experience at the Axel Guldsmeden hotel. The facilities are very clean and have a casual chic design aesthetic. The pillow menu is a wonderful benefit. I slept very well after I found the perfect pillow. The spa facilities are tranquil and maintained to a very high standard. I look forward to staying there again soon.

We appreciated the great customer service – the staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay. However, there were a few things that made our experience less than ideal. We stayed for five days and only requested housekeeping once, but even then, our beds and towels were not changed. The room was only tidied, and the floors were not cleaned. There was also a significant amount of dust under the bed, which clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was the spa, but we were disappointed to find out that it required an extra charge to use, especially considering the already high room rate. There was no happy hour offered, and while the food was tasty, we found it a bit overpriced. Our first night was especially frustrating. We arrived around midnight after a long day of travel, only to be woken up very early by loud machinery operating right outside our room. Thankfully, the staff were understanding and moved us to a quieter room. Lastly, the bathrooms were very small, and some were not suitable for older guests due to lack of accessibility. Overall, the staff were lovely, but the facilities and services did not fully meet our expectations, especially for the price we paid.

The first room I was assigned had a significant mold issue in the shower area, with visible black mold affecting several tiles and grout lines. I was moved to a second room, which was generally clean, although the spa shower again showed signs of similar mold problems. It appears the hotel should reassess its ventilation and humidity control systems. On a positive note, the breakfast was excellent—made with fresh, local ingredients and full of flavor. The surrounding neighborhood felt somewhat unsafe, with visible street activity, including sex work, present both day and night.
