Convenient for skiers and snowboarders!

There is a difference between the "3 star" versus the "4 star" hotel but guests are able to partake in ameneities of both: including the shuttle that brings guests directly to the train station/entrance to Jakobshorn. Overall the service was the crowning jewel of our experience. My husband injured himself during our snowboarding run so we came down the mountain early. Although the pick-up timeframe hadn't begun yet, the shuttle driver came down early for us. Also; the front desk reception was very kind and amenable to our requests for ice and a late check out. A solid stay - especially as a home base for the sports lovers who need accessibility to the train station. We booked the hotel last minute for one night as an extension to our stay in Davos and found it met our needs for the short duration.

Kid-less and loved it

I really liked this hotel. It's the cheaper cousin to the full featured Sunstar hotel about 100 feet up the hill, but at half the price we felt like we got a bargain while skiing for a long weekend in Davos. The staff was incredibly friendly; the breakfast wonderful; and the room was a decent size and clean by Swiss standards. We don't have kids, and missed having a hot tub, but all in all I'd stay here again in a heart beat. No hot tub was a miss for a ski hotel, but the rest of it made up for that.

Sporting weekend with friends in the Swiss Alps

This was a typical mid range Swiss hotel. Simple but spotlessly clean room. Friendly and efficient staff. Good breakfast. My only "moan" would be that we would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in our room. Location is good, 5 minutes walk from the railway station and the main shopping/restuarants in Davos. As with everything in Switzerland and especially Davos, it was not a low cost stay, but par for the course given the location. In summary, very good, would stay again if I return to Davos

Keep it up!

Even though, the hotel complex appears a little dated from the outside, everything is very well maintained and in excellent condition. The staff is friendly and our room was ample an perfectly clean. We also had a nice view from our balcony. The breakfast was rich and delicious. The hotel is idially located, i.e. everything you need within a walking distance. All in all it's great value for money.

Very peaceful setting with a great view. A lot of facilities in the hotel (we didnt use all). Davos guest card provided and also a lot of information on cable cars around.

Comfortable and plenty

We were moved to the sunstar alpine as the familyhotel was closed, but this was no problem at all. The staff was courteous and the facilities excellent. The view from 7th floor was also amazing. The information on sightseeing in the area and the davos cards were also great.

Family hotel 10 minutes from the ski slopes.

Friendly staff, good breakfast selection and everything is geared up to accommodate families. The hotel run a coach service to two of the nearest slopes every 15 minutes in the morning, lunchtime and late afternoon. The rooms had sufficient storage for one adult and two children ANC everywhere is warm with facilities to dry ski clothing.

Clean hotel and good location

Being only three or four minutes walk from the main street and no more than six from Davos Platz station makes the location of this hotel very convenient. It's a bit dated but my room was a good size and everything was very clean. Service was efficient and cordial.

Perfect pricing

The most disappointing issue i was traveling from Canada and then i drove to Davos, reached the hotel at 11:45 and i have to wait 2:30 hrs to get the keys, i felt so upset as they told me checkin is 3PM where as they asked me to checkout at 11 Am, 4 hrs to prepare room for next guest??

Sunstar Davos

Having stayed at the hotel previously we new what standard to expect and were not disappointed, The staff and service are excellent but unfortunately on this occasion we arrived on the day of opening for the winter season and had the hotel almost to ourselves. This meant that the dining room did not do dinners for the first 3 days, these were available across the road at the other Sunstar Hotel in Davos - other than that small inconvenience the hotel lived up to expectations.

Det var en rigtig god oplevelse at bo på Sunstar Alpine Familienhotel. Godt værelse med gode senge, dyner og puder. Det var en positiv overraskelse at minibaren var gratis og blev fyldt op dagligt. Der er et lækkert spa med en stor swimmingpool, dampbad, fitnessrum og "ruheraum", hvor der er te, frugt og kildevand til fri afbenyttelse. Hotellet har egen skibus, der kørte direkte til de forskellige skilifte i byen.

コンパクトだけど清潔感があり、フロントもフレンドリー。部屋がキープできておらず、ハイシーズンなのでヒヤッとしましたが無事チェックイン。早朝のチェックアウト時にフロントが開いておらず、向かいの系列ホテルでチェックアウトしました。

tolles Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal

Die Ausstattung der Reception ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber das ist nicht weiter tragisch. Die Zimmer sind zweckmässig eingerichtet und sauber. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer Comfort mit Zusatzbett und Balkon. Das Frühstück war tiptop, nichts ausgefallenes, aber alles nötige war vorhanden mit verschiedenen Brotsorten. Es war sogar alles mit Kalorienangaben versehen. Zu Fuss und mit dem Ortsbus kann man alles in ein paar Minuten erreichen.
