We spent 1 night here after missing a late evening flight connection. We were just looking for something close to the airport with a shuttle. We really didn't expect to be impressed, we just needed a room and airport transportation. We were very surprised that it was a very pleasant stay! I made a quick call to the hotel to ask for the shuttle and it arrived in just a short time. The driver voluntarily loaded our bags and had us at the hotel in no time. We were greated by 2 front desk clerks who were very friendly and welcoming. Check in was quick and they told us about the restaurant, breakfast and the morning shuttle schedule. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable... not glamorous but much nicer than we expected with a fridge and plenty of space. We had a quick dinner in the restaurant and really enjoyed our food... it was WAY better than we expected. The bartender and our waitress were just as friendly as the front desk ladies. After a good night's sleep we enjoyed the breakfast buffet before returning to the airport on the shuttle. We were mostly impressed with how helpful and friendly the staff was....EVERY single member that we encountered treated us like old friends. We hope we won't be stranded at DTW again but if we are we'll definitely be returning to this Marriott.

The furnishings and beds are overdue for replacement. They charge $10 per day to park in a regular parking lot at the hotel! My sister’s room had a broken shower and they couldn’t even shower. Way overpriced.
