Golf trip

We stayed at hotel to play the three golf courses at Rosapena. The hotel staff are brilliant and friendly with a delicious breakfast. The rooms are massive too.

We loved our stay here, hotel is great, in the perfect location walking distance to the beach. The bar/restaurant is great for dinner and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only disappointing thing for us is that we chose this hotel mainly because of the swimming pool (for the kids). It was only when we checked in that we realised the pool is actually located offsite at a local leisure centre in a caravan park - 1 mile drive from the hotel. The pool is also only available at certain times of the day, around the pool’s other uses. This is the only downfall and we felt it was very misleading when booking this hotel. However. Soft play is also available at the local leisure centre which the kids loved.

This beautiful hotel has a wonderful location close to the beach and the rooms are lovely. The brilliant bar had very friendly staff and served great food. The full Irish breakfast was great so we highly recommend this super hotel in a great location.

Static caravans ruin the views

The hotel and staff were nice enough but the location was awful. I wrongly assumed that given its location and the beach photos on its website there would be beautiful views of the bay but didn’t do my homework properly. Check out Google maps but on satellite view to see the clutter of static caravans completely dominating the best part of Downings and covering the entire length of the bay right up to the boundary of the hotel car park ☹️

A true gem!

We stayed for one night and it happened to be the last night of the season. We were met with a friendly receptionist. We had dinner in the bar and it was one of the nicest meals I’ve had in Ireland in the last 2 years! Great service, varied menu, lots of vegetarian options, absolutely delicious food. The room was spacious and a lovely comfortable bed. Breakfast was a buffet style served to you. Again this was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel. I didn’t use any of the leisure facilities to comment.

Nice hotel, great location, food good. Staff at breakfast were so unhappy looking and weren’t sure about what they were doing. Staff on desk and bar really friendly.
