Hotel lovey though could have more choice on the menu’s staff very friendly and helpful short walk to beach, and bus trip to town, all in all great.

We attended here for our honeymoon for a week with our two year old in toe. The hotel was absolutly spotless, the staff were wonderful...very friendly and helpful. The pool was really clean and I also had a massage which I enjoyed. Breakfast was wonderful with a big variety and freshly cooked. It would have been 5 star all around however there was no acknowledgement that we were there for our honeymoon even though the hotel were aware when we booked. It would have been nice for a little effort to have been made to acknowledge this. What was great was that we were able to use the children’s park and pool from the adjoining hotel which was owned by the same company. This made a significant difference to our enjoyment as our toddler was able to play for hours in the pool and mix with other children. Also the bus into the old town was outside the hotel. Really great choice for families.

Great hotel for your trip to Dubrovnik

We would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed in Valamar Lacroma for two nights in August 2017. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful on arrival and we were even upgraded to a sea view room. The room was excellent and very clean with a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. The facilities are also excellent - the pool was great, there is a spa (although we didn't use this) and the breakfast was brilliant with so much choice. The hotel is in a great location as the number 6 bus to Dubrovnik Old Town stops at a bus stop right outside the hotel - we used this each evening to get to and from the Old Town as the bus runs until the early hours. We were also within walking distance of Lapad Bay and spent one of the days on the beach here. We would definitely return here and would recommend it to anyone - thank you Valamar Lacroma.

Great hotel.

Pros: Everything was great
Cons: Extend your breakfasts till 10:30 atlas
Location: Location was the only problem. There is a bus every 10 minutes that takes you to old town. Lapad promenade is a 10-15 min walking distance.
Check in staff and restaurant staff are friendly. The lady that works at the exchange office is extremely rude. Great rooms, although our bathroom shower temperature was broken- it kept going from hot to cold. The room smelled a bit weird as well. But overall, everything else was better than expected.

Highly recommend this hotel

We got back earlier this week after staying for 6 days. I cannot recommend Valamar Lacroma highly enough! Check in was easy and informative. Staff at reception, in the buffet restaurant, by the pool and the cleaners were all outstanding. They made us feel so welcome throughout our holiday. A big thank you in particular to the restaurant front-of-house guys who were extra kind to us every evening, and the waitors/waitresses by the back doors and outside who were friendly and enthusiastic. Everyone really looks like they enjoy working there! We didn't try the Langusto restaurant as the buffet was excellent value for money and had a wide choice of food. Always a couple of choices of meat, fish, cooked vegetables that changed each night, and then a standard choice of raw salads, cheeses, etc. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of choice every day of cooked options, cereals, fruit, salad, breads, cheeses etc. The food was faultless. Our bathroom was modern and spotless, the shower was fantastically powerful, it was cleaned every day. Our view (room 4031) was out of the front of the hotel on to flowers and mountains. It did look slightly onto a road but it was more or less hidden by trees and not many cars drive down it. Not a problem. It's east facing so we left the curtains open at night so we could be woken up by the sunrise. I loved this! If you don't like to be woken by sunlight, the curtains are thick blackout curtains which keep the room in total darkness. We did not have a balcony, but we didn't plan on spending much time in the room so again this wasn't a problem. Overall the room was comfortable, clean and we were very happy with it. The view at the pool is second to none. You can watch the sunset from it every evening. The area around the pool is spotless, and the food is delicious. My favourite was the mango and prawn salad. Only downside to this area was that the pool is not heated and despite the hot weather the water was freezing! Most people seemed to be splashing around regardless! Personally, I preferred to dip in the children's pool which was warmer due to being more shallow. WIFI wasn't great by the pool but perfect inside the hotel. There are a variety of shops, cafes and supermarkets just a 5 min walk in the complex. We used the supermarket to buy wine and beers rather than drink at the bar. Top tip they have an unlimited drinks package which is very good value but you have to purchase for a minimum of three days which we didn't realise until we went to purchase it on our last day. This was a bit disappointing to find out as we would have purchased it earlier in the holiday. In the shops/supermarket area there is a guy selling excursions. We did the full day 3-island tour with him and it was absolutely amazing! There is a bus stop just outside the hotel which goes directly to the Old City. It takes about 20 mins getting back in the afternoon but in the morning you should set off a little earlier than planned because there is a lot of traffic and it takes around 30 mins. Buy tickets in the hotel - it's cheaper than on the bus and saves time! I would not hesitate to book Valamar Lacroma again, and cannot wait to go back.

Pleasant surprise

This is one of the few times that reality exceeded expectations. The hotel offers all it promises - which is already rare - the rooms are spacious and well thought out, the staff are so friendly that you think you're dreaming. Access to the 5-star President hotel next door and all its infrastructure (Beach, Pools, Terrace with a view to sunsets out of this world, etc.). We rented a car, which is totally unnecessary unless you want to take long trips. Public buses bring you to the old town very frequently and comfortably.
