lovely weekend

I cannot praise the staff enough for the care and attention they gave me, my husband and our friends. The hotel was valued for money and the food was very good. I would return back to this hotel.

staff excellent and helpfull the one meal we had was fine and the breakfasts were good. But hotel and surroundings were tired needs a lot of money spent to upgrade it. compared with other hotels in this part of scotland the day rate was a good bit cheaper

Birthday celebration

Ticked all the boxes, a lot more spacious than it looked from the outside. Rooms were clean and equipped with what you need, the Tunnocks caramel log was a lovely nostalgic treat with my coffee- appreciated. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Maitlandfield House Hotel was an ideal location for our social visit to Haddington. Good central location, off road private parking, quite and close to the town centre. The staff were polite, friendly and professional. It felt like a home from home and that they cared for their guests. Food options very good, especially the Scottish cooked breakfast and Scots porridge.

No washing facility, Dirty bath water

I booked and asked for a room with bath, I started to fill the bath and the water was a dark brown colour so I switched off and did not use any further water in the building, so no washing facility.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff, great meal

Booked this hotel as it was close to family we were visiting on a last minute trip. Ample parking on arrival and a very friendly helpful young gentleman at reception, he knew the answer to any questions we had and was so knowledgeable - a real credit to the hotel. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant even though we hadn’t booked and it was no problem at all, there was a small menu and only one vegetarian option but it was really lovely, one of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time and a great price too. The room itself was very small for a double, any more than 1 night in it would have been a squeeze. The room was also a bit dated and in need of repair but clean enough and the bed was very comfortable, next time we will try and book a larger room so we have space for our bags. Breakfast was included which was a bonus, nothing fancy but it filled a hole, cereals or a full Scottish on offer. We will be back soon I am sure!
