Here are commendable points by the staff 1) Breakfast at lobby café The staff at the café clear the dish promptly. One of the staff noticed that my friend's napkin has dropped, the staff replaced with new napkin. Good service. 3) Housekeeping service Upon checking into the room, we found that the usb port is unable to charge in both bedside. Informed that staff at the reception counter, they get the hosukeeping staff to check. When we came back to the room, we found that the usb port has been rectified, Good service 3) At check out counter At check out , the staff took an extra effort to print out to show that the credit card transaction was cancelled. Good service,. In addition, while queuing to check out, there were some people that tried to jump queue by standing behind the counter instead of standing at the queue pole. The staff redirected these people to stand at the queue pole which is fair for the rest of people queuing behind. Bravo effort This the second time staying in this hotel after 3 year. the service standard is high . The hotel location is central location with malls. Highly recommend to friends

Perfectly pleasant hotel. As ever, very warm, friendly and helpful staff with a professional approach to their work. Great location in the centre of George Town - try 99 McNair for hawker food - 2 minutes round the corner from the hotel. Room was pleasant, clean and modern. Breakfast was very good. Lobby bar was nice with good cocktails and great live music at the weekend. The club lounge is good - the selection of drinks is small but OK - international and local beer, wine and free pour brand spirits. The food is more than sufficient for an evening supper if you can't be bothered going out (or if like me you are greedy) but it would be better still if it was more authentic malay food. We would stay here again. :-)

The location is extremely convenient, walkable distance to George Town tourist trails and night market. Surrounded by a few shopping malls, and bus station is just downstairs. However, quite a lot homeless around after 9pm at night.

Jen is under Shangrila group and all things are up to standard. Yet, cleanliness / housekeeping will need to be improved as some tiny hairs can be found in the bath tub. Staff are ok polite but not too welcoming to guests. There is a tricky thing to use the TV remote control, and we have waited for a long time at first for someone to clarify the use. We suggest the management to put a note inside the room for guest easy reference. In fact, we enjoyed staying in Shangrila hotels in the past, but our recent stay would suggest improvement in overall management.

Excellent stay, still convenient although no longer directly linked to the mall. You need to cross a slightly busy junction to get to first avenue mall. Near all the yummy food location, easily walkable - all within 5-10 minutes walk. Live band at the bar every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Will stay again next time

Great Stay

Hotel staff were great especially the concierge and restaurant staff. Helpful and very knowledgeable. Staff spoke English very well my Malay is terrible. Room large and well appointed. Pool nice. I would stay here again. Close to the things I needed.
