When driving into the estate you are greeted with a stunning view of the estuary and the building itself.
We booked a premium room for our anniversary and got our key shortly after turning up.
The room itself upon entering was really something. You can see effort has been made to make the room special. However, when taking a further look, it doesn't appear to have been looked after. There were stains/marks over the curtains and cushions. The curtains were also not able to be closed fully as they looked to have been partially pulled off of the rings.
The bathroom was directly behind the bed with only a wall separating it from the room (no door). I didn't feel comfortable using the toilet given it was so close to the bed!
Our evening meal at the restaurant was very pleasant, service was good and food was lovely.
The complimentary breakfast (continental) was poor. We were greeted by staff and asked to take a seat, we sat for 25 minutes and had no service. We ended up leaving with no breakfast as a result.
Overall, I left with mixed feelings. I loved the location but the other factors let it down.
Have stayed here a few times and was amazed with the room yet again. We have a beautiful room with views on both dire lions over the estuary, the bath was the perfect thing to improve the room and having time to soak and relax.
Beautiful grounds to the hotel and the building is lovely. Issues we had were the room was way to hot with no way to turn off the heating in the room and no opening windows in the bedroom itself cant really sleep with the door open all night. Was offered a fan for the room but that just pushed hot air around. The jacuzzi bath smelt awful when the only set of jets that were working were turned on. Reported to reception they didnt seem to care that much and was assured that they would have it looked at during the day. Came back to be told that maintenance had looked and it was fine so tried again and still not working. Showed this to receptionist and was offered a free warm breakfast in "compensation" not really what you expect of a supposedly luxury hotel stay very dissapointed.
Amazing short break in west wales in this hotel. Wonderful and doggy friendly. Tranquil and beautiful with character and a story. Lovely on site doggy walks in abundance. Good value. All staff lovely and friendly.
Our recent stay at this hotel was truly delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the breathtaking views and the serene atmosphere. The room was spotless, spacious and provided a comfortable retreat after a long day. The attention to detail in cleanliness and comfort made the stay even more enjoyable.
The only aspect that could be improved is the breakfast. While it was adequate, the continental selection lacked variety, and items were not replenished as frequently as expected. A little more attention to this detail would elevate the overall experience.
Despite this minor drawback, I highly recommend this hotel for its stunning views, impeccable rooms, and warm hospitality. I look forward to returning!"
Would you like me to make any tweaks to the wording?
This is a wonderful place to stay . The staff are amazing and the place and surrounding are lovely

Room was tidy and comfortable. Breakfast good, limited selection of food for a continental breakfast. Cooked food was good.
Outside, the buildings looked very tired and needed a clean or paint along with the windows. Courtyard again, needed sprucing up. The grounds around the house were lovely and the walk to the productive garden and the old church were fabulous. Such a beautiful setting but the buildings a real let down.
I do understand that it needs alot of money to repair/paint etc. So more an observation rather than a criticism as we wanted the room for 1 night and were out to a wedding party in the evening of our stay in Haverfordwest.
Kind regards,
Chris
Great little find, we stayed for 1 night last min and it couldn’t have been a smoother process

Lack of Care
We felt that the hotel lacked a communal area.
The room was quite small and while it was clean the fittings weren’t in the best condition. The curtain pole was loose and some of the furniture was a little shabby. The bathroom was clean and had a great shower.
The restaurant wasn’t open for dinner the night that we stayed.
The grounds and setting are lovely but the outside furniture was not very clean and didn’t look like it had been cleaned for some time.
The room was relatively reasonably priced as I booked on the day that we stayed. If I had paid the usual rate for the room I would have been very disappointed.
Lovely place though far out for visiting places. For me it was a treat. Lovely gardens to walk on an evening. Staff friendly. Good food.

So much potential but needs work
In need of refurbishment. So much potential but we paid for a top notch room and found it wanting. One of the bedside lamps had clearly been removed but the bracket remained making it look very untidy. The room wasn’t clean, curtains and small sofa was disgusting, didn’t want to sit on it. The bed however was presented lovely. The wooden bench in room looked and did not feel safe, looked to have had a poor repair job done on it. The bathroom doors were very heavy and provided a loud bang each time they were used. Room was very spacious but they should make better use of it. The TV was awful, thankfully I’m a techy but others would find very challenging. Tv also relies on WiFi signal which kept dropping. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all as well, not well organised wi th a constant request going in from guests for items to be replenished. The hotel seemed to be run by a young group of girls who were very friendly and helpful but it was clear they lacked experience. Oh and also gave us the wrong walking route leading a closed path.
