We loved the grounds. Beautiful historic hotel with a great staff. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The balcony in the tower over the pool and ocean was perfect for us. At night we heard the ocean waves instead of street noise. That was awesome. Would have liked another option on site for dinner or a larger menu at the bar.

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Hawaiian. Built in 1927 it maintains its charm. I'd always wanted to stay here and due to a great package on Expedia we were able to. We stayed in the historic wing garden view not the modern tower. Since the resort is well off Kalakaua Ave. The room was very quite and the bed super comfortable. The older wings bathroom does not have the toilet top bidets, but the tower does. We ate and had drinks at the Mai Tai Bar a number of times. The food is really pretty good. We both had the short rib ragu. It was outstanding and very filling. As for Mai Tai's I recommend the 1944 mai tai and the rye tai. We also utilized the bakery for breakfast 3 out of the 4 days there. Good coffee and pastry selection. Get there early to avoid the line. We also had breakfast at the Surf Lanai and had the famous Pink Palace Pancakes which were very good. The morning we were there the kitchen was very busy so our server brought out a very generous fresh fruit plate and apologized for the wait, which wasn't that long.The resorts position and the East end of Waikiki beach crescent, give the beach out front, the Mai Tai Bar and the Surf Lanai, a great sweeping view of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. There is only a small round, shallow pool which may be the only negative for some. Service overall from servers to staff was excellent and with aloha spirit.

The Royal Hawaiian just a beautiful hotel & property. Their beach has hawaiian Blue water! Breathtaking views. You’re able to reserve 2 sun loungers & umbrella for a small fee(reserve in advance). Pool is wonderful too. It looks small but it does provide a comfortable surroundings w/food & beverage service. We reserved an Outrigger Canoe Surf experience-outstanding! The hotel & staff first class - The Prime location on Waikiki Beach amazing. Food choices are plenty from the Bakery, Mai Tai’s for live music, bar, & food. You can step out for food with a short 3 minute walk & many other choices within 5-10 min walk. Go & see the hotel it’s so lovely… historical too (take the free tour @ hotel) You’ll love it too🌺

The hotel was amazing. We celebrated my wife's birthday recently. We were also upgraded to their "Apaka Suite" which was a surprise for us. The views of the hotel grounds were beautiful as we got to see the garden, ocean, and pool views from our three balconies. The one unfortunate event was that we had a bug problem, but house keeping was quick and came to clean the area in our room.

We upgraded to the Mailani Tower to ocean front rooms and we did not regret it. We spent so much time enjoying the patio. Especially, in the mornings and evenings. The hotel itself is beautiful. It is centrally located to so many shops and places to eat. We didn’t even rent a car. We took the trolley, Uber or walked everywhere.
