The room was clean, however there’s no elevator, it’s a walk up, the check in staff was very accommodating, helped us with the luggage. Also the noice from the bar in the corner was excessive, made it really difficult to sleep. I would like to give it a better rating but I’m unable to.

yes the room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful we arrived in the rain ..... would rather not have wooden branches to hang clothing and towels on ... much prefer regular towel rails. I had a room next to a staff room and the door was often open

Check in and staff were wonderful. Location was excellent. The room left a lot to be desired. What showed on Expedia as a balcony room turned out to be a cramped attic room. The ceiling in the bathroom was severely sloped over the commode, impossible to stand. The room was clean and housekeeping came which is rare these days. Other rooms may be better here but this on was not it.

The staff were kind an accommodating, especially when we arrived in the pouring rain! I found the room adequate but some amenities were unusual - the place to hang clothes was either a painted tree branch or a chair; my room did not have a safe; the towel rack seemed unstable. The room was very clean - sheets and towels were changed daily - not necessary but no option to notify that I was happy to reuse. The lights in the hallways were on motion detectors. I understand saving money, but when i stepped out of my room, I was in pitch dark for the first 5 steps in a hallway with a fire extinguisher on the floor. I ended up having to resort to my phone flashlight to feel safe in the halls.

We stayed at Chiado 44 for 2 nights. When we arrived the staff helped with our luggage right away and put it in our room for us. They helped orient us to the city and offered coffee etc. The room was very clean, had a little balcony and the shower was great with great water pressure. The hotel is located in the Chiado area up on the hill. So, be ready to walk some hills if you plan on going to other areas like Biaxa and Alfama. Use Uber and public transportation. Pretty cheap. Overall, we loved the location of this property, the room was great and quiet, and service was exceptional.

Prior to arrival, they contacted me to determine the bedding arrangements. The staff were very friendly from the moment we walked in. We arrived early and they held our bags and brought it up to our room after check in which helped tremendously. Isabella was very helpful with information when she heard we wanted to go to Sintra for the day. Overall a great experience

Great location and spectacular staff who went over and above to please and make us comfortable. It’s an old but charming property that has been kept up well. Very varied room offerings so pay attention to features you’re looking for in what you book. Lovely breakfast option in a well appointed space that was only recently opened. It’s a great addition. Very central and walkable area near the property.

We really enjoyed Chiado 44. Location was great - we could walk to everything we wanted, and were just a few blocks from the metro. The view can't be beat - my husband sat out on the balcony whenever we were at the room. There is no elevator, which we knew in advance, so not an issue. The only downside is that the building could use updating or refreshing. The stairs were old and not uniform in size, so take care when navigating. Our sink and shower didn't drain properly. Staff were outstanding. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again!
