An elegant period fully modernised, ground floor garden flat right in the heart of London's buzzing arts neighbourhood, Southbank, close to Tate Modern, the London Eye, Waterloo Station, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Shakespeare's Globe, the National Theatre, BFI National Film Theatre and many tubes and buses.

The space

A two bedroom, two bathroom flat (showers in both bathrooms - one walk-in, the other is over the bath) with a rear garden in a lovely quiet street of Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses close to the river in London's Zone 1.

Guest access

Two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a king bed and a further single bed can be made up on the sofa. Rear garden with BBQ, table and seating, kitchen-living-dining room, fully equipped kitchen, fridge-freezer, induction hob, oven and microwave and a dishwasher. There are two bathrooms, both with showers, one with a bath. There is a washer/dryer in the bathroom and outdoor space for drying clothes. Central heating throughout. High speed fibre broadband WiFi.

Interaction with guests

If I'm in town I will probably be staying close by, if I'm away then a relative or friend living nearby will be on hand.

The neighbourhood

Such a great place to be, located close to all the arts venues of London's Southbank such as the National Theatre, Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Tate Modern, BFI National Film Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe, Borough Farmers' Market (for foodies!), the Old Vic theatre, the Young Vic theatre, Union Theatre, the London Eye, London Aquarium and many more! There are 6 supermarkets within a few minutes walk.

Getting around

Situated between two very convenient stations, Waterloo and Blackfriars and with many bus routes close by - though you will probably choose to walk most places! Covent Garden is a 15 minute walk and Soho is 25 minutes away on foot. London taxis can be hailed around the corner on the main road and Ubers will pick you up from the door.

Damian made us feel very welcome. He gave us a comprehensive overview of the property, invited us to use things in the cupboards and a great supply of coffee. The flat was close to Waterloo station whilst at the same time being in a quiet street. An added bonus given we were there new years eve was the protection from the extremely busy foot traffic by being inside the exclusion zone while also being able to see some of the fireworks.

My family of four had a wonderful stay! It was as described and presented. Damien was a caring and gracious host leading up to and during our time in the flat. Location was ideal and what we had hoped - a quaint little street that was central and within walking distance to much of what my family wanted to do and see, but also a very short walk to Waterloo station, which was a great hub for farther transit.

The flat was in a great location and easy to get to everything we wanted to see throughout London. We would absolutely rent here again. Everything was exactly as pictured, clean and comfortable. Damien was so helpful and nice to work with. Neighborhood was quiet and safe with lots of restaurants, pubs, grocery and drugstore options within walking distance. Easy walk to numerous bus stops and 3 tube stations that we used constantly. This would not keep us from renting again, but a word of caution to anyone very sensitive to noise and not used to living with others above them: bring a white noise machine and/or earplugs as you can hear the upstairs neighbors. They were not doing anything crazy-just normal life sounds but if they are on a different schedule from you it will be noticeable. This was totally manageable for us with white noise machine but sensitive folks should plan ahead. All around awesome property!

Our stay was about as perfect as possible. Damien was a wonderful host - very responsive and he seemed to think of everything we could have needed well in advance. He truly was fabulous to work with. Plus, his flat was every bit (perhaps even more) inviting and comfortable as it looks in the photos. Beds were comfortable, kitchen and living area were well outfitted and pleasant, and the outdoor garden added a lovely, secluded feel to this perfectly located flat. Easy walk to so many things, and easy access to the Tube made this a great "first London visit" location. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe, too.Our thanks to Damien for sharing his beautiful place with us.

Perhaps our best vacation ever!

From booking to checking in, Damien was a fantastic host! Damien was in contact throughout the process, on arrival he had juice, milk, fresh fruit etc for us. His flat is lovely and located in a perfect neighborhood base. We walked to nearly everything we wanted to see/do. Tube, train, coffee, grocery shops, pubs, all within minutes walk. It is literally 400 steps to the Thames, yes we counted:). Staying in a flat lends to a more local experience. To be able to come back at days end and prepare dinner or just relax sitting in the garden is something you can’t get at hotels. Just wish we had more time to enjoy it. Can’t wait to stay here again!

A real find!

This spot is a gem - extremely comfortable (including great beds and linens), incredibly well equipped and spotlessly clean. The garden is a lovely bonus. Our host Damien thought of everything and was gracious, generous and easy to reach. We walked everywhere, but if needed, Waterloo tube station is close by. We were delighted to return to this lovely flat at the end of busy London days and hope to stay there again.

Perfect homebase in a central location

This beautiful flat was the perfect location and comfort for my parents and I to stay a week in London. It was walking distance to multiple tube and train stations and busses. Tons of restaurants and grocery stores near by. Easy to get around. The best part was the flat, which had all the things we needed to make it feel like home.

Family Vacation in London

My family and I just returned from a week in London staying in this flat. We had a wonderful time. The property owner was extremely communicative and proactive from the moment we booked. We could not have asked for a more ideal location--close to all the public transportation one needs, and within walking distance to many top attractions in central London. Yet the flat is on a quiet and picturesque street there in the heart of the city. The owner made sure we were greeted personally, assisted in planning travel, and had snacks and fresh flowers for my travel-weary family as soon as we arrived! The flat is close to multiple excellent restaurants, grocery, and, of course, a Pret! This was an extremely cozy place to return to after a day of seeing the sights and a great meal at one of London's many wonderful restaurants. Check out couldn't have been easier, and owner was quickly responsive to all questions we had during the stay. Very highly recommended!

A week at Damien's place

What a wonderful place! Our family of four spent a week at Damien's place while visiting London. It's in a charming neighborhood close to the river with easy walking access to most of the main attractions. We were allowed to check in early as well and Damien showed us around on arrival. Everything was super clean and comfortable with a ton of recent updates. Couldn't ask for more!

Outstanding Family Trip

We had an incredible stay at Damien's flat. He was there to greet us and very generously allowed us to check in early and store our bags after a long trip from the U.S. The flat was exceptionally well equipped and Damien gave us some great tips on restaurants, local travel, etc. Excellent walkability and access to transportation. Fantastic Stay!

Our family of 4 enjoyed staying at Damien's place. The location is near Waterloo station and The Queen's Walk along the South Bank of the Thames. It is on a quite street, but convenient to shopping, restaurants and grocery stores. Damien met us upon arrival and showed us around the house. He provided coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, spices, olive oil, vinegar and lots of other staples. The place is colorful and has lots of plants both inside and out. Mint and rosemary grow in the garden patio, which we enjoyed when weather permitted. Beds were comfortable and we appreciated having the washer. It was a fantastic stay and Damien is a wonderful host!

Short trip to London

This property was perfect for our family of four. Well situated in easy walking distance to the Eye and the river. Plenty of space and Damien was amazing. Lovely Space to Come Home to.

Firstly let me congratulate and thank Damien for being a superb host. He is a prompt and informative communicator and met us at the flat to show us around and answer any questions we may have had. The flat is not large but it’s very comfortable. The living area has an enormous sofa and the kitchen is equipped with anything you could possibly need, including a dining table. Damien very thoughtfully left us welcome gifts of food and drinks, as well as written information for everything pertaining to both the flat and the area. Beds are extremely comfortable and the main bedroom opens out onto the pretty back garden which we unfortunately couldn’t use because of the weather! There is a combined washing machine/dryer and wifi is reliable and fast. Waterloo Station is an easy 14 minute walk as are lots of restaurants in areas such as Gabriel’s Wharf. Would we go back? Indeed we would!

Southbank vacation

The apartment was in a great location. On a quiet street just a block from good bus routes and within walking distance to Waterloo station. Damien was the best host. We were able to check-in early and met us at the apartment. He had flowers on the table and a few staples in the fridge. The small bedroom had direct access to a bathroom while the larger bedroom had the bathroom in the hallway. The garden in the back was lovely, though a bit overgrown. We did not get to use because of the rain. We would definitely stay there again.

Chill Vibe!

This flat has such a super chill vibe, was spotless clean and had all the amenities you could want for. The bonus back yard garden area was icing on the cake. Lovely London Flat

We loved our stay at the flat in Waterloo! Charming 2 bedroom 2 bathroom with a little garden space. Modern touches like towel warmers, Nespresso, and trendy lighting and fixtures are little things that give the flat a luxury feel. We traveled as a family of 4 with 2 teens and had no trouble walking and using public transportation. Easy access to stores, pubs, restaurants, Gabriel's Warf, London Eye and Waterloo Station for trains, tubes, buses. The street is quaint with relatively quiet neighbors for a city environment. One teen slept on the futon and found it comfortable for a week. We would stay here again and plan to recommend it to friends. Damien went above and beyond to make us welcome and comfortable. He is a 5 star host!
