3* review: Excellent location, just a short walk from Kings Cross and St Pancras, with plenty of cafes and shops nearby and Russell Square within walking distance. The rooms are tiny, and the stairs to the top are steep and winding with no lift. The bathroom lights make a loud noise when switched on, so I stopped using them. Fine for a one-night stay, but not ideal for longer visits.

Lovely stay

Really enjoyed our stay. Great friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Hotel spotlessly clean. And considering it was fully booked there was no noise. Cooked breakfast was delicious and plentiful. My sister and I both needed gluten free breakfasts (medical) this was catered for-we were even provided with our own gluten free toaster. Now…as much as I don’t like to be negative, we had a room right on the top floor as originally there were 3 of us staying in a 3 bed room which was perfect-but…. the shower was absolutely hopeless. I realise that this is a very old property with old plumbing and on the third floor but there must be a way to provide a decent shower-when you’ve been wandering around London all day you want to have a decent shower and this was little more than a hand held shower hose with a tiny trickle of water (at least it was nice and warm so a bonus point there) The only other thing to mention was the catches on the windows needed a little attention (old windows I know but a little repair required as I was frightened the window would break) however, the windows did open and it was nice to get some fresh air. On the whole a wonderful stay and would stay again but a better shower needed please. Thank you

Disappointing

Unfortunately, despite spending a fair amount of time deciding on a hotel, this one let me down. The positives- it was a five minute walk from a subway station, it was surrounded by excellent restaurants and several convenience/grocery stores and was close to both the British library and the British Museum. My brief interactions with hotel staff were good. The room itself was reasonably modern and quite clean. The negatives were many. Uneven, noisy stairs. Loud door locks. I thought I might’ve been living in a closet under the stairs similar to Harry Potter. This unfortunately was a 12 day stay.The room barely fit the twin bed, let alone an open suitcase. The bed was too firm. The room was often too warm with no way to temperature control. The bed had a duvet, but no sheet. I had many sleepless nights, partly due to the discomfort from the bed, but also just from excessive noise. The window to the room was very old and did not shut fully and because I had a room facing the street, you could hear people talking and sometimes yelling at all hours of the night as there was a pub around the corner. I’m used to hearing a little hallway noise at most hotels, but the walls were so thin between the neighbouring rooms that I could hear the guest next to me using the toilet, and I don’t mean the toilet flushing. The shower could at best be described as lukewarm, and I dreaded having to face a cold shower. There were no face cloths, no tissues. The bath towels were very thin.

We loved everything about our stay. The breakfast was great, and it is in a great location to the tube. The staff was amazing and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

I loved everything about this hotel… the receptionist staff went far above and beyond for me … even getting me a new fan for my room as the one I had wasn’t great…the ladies serving breakfast were wonderful very attentive…there’s nothing I could find fault in… the room was very comfortable and clean it met my needs…kings cross is walking distance the whole neighborhood felt safe and there are plenty of local bars and restaurants short walking distance from St George’s hotel, I loved Skinners arms for a drink and a bite to eat, only a street away! I highly recommend staying here and I’ll definitely be booking this one again for future trips to London!

Ideal for exploring. Both on foot and convenient public transport. Good choice of café and restaurants nearby Friendly helpful staff. The room was small but had everything you need if your not planning to stay in for long.

Although a very basic room , the bed was comfortable the check in was a excellent really good man on check in and hotel convenient for St Pancras 8 mins walk to get early start Eurostar We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment
