We got one of the smaller room and it was small but I did know that going in. Bathroom sink was tiny and you couldn't wash your hands without gettting the floor wet, but the shower was good size. Lots of food options in the area and a beautiful are of new building and food option along the canal just a couple of blocks north of the hotel.

Disappointing stay

The room was noisey and the door is close to the next room so you can hear loud door opening and closing. The bathroom shower curtain had mold on it. The mini bar had several items missing on arrival which I brought to the attention of reception staff as i did not wish to be charged for items that I did not consume. The girls at reception were pleasant however their manager was not so. I did not feel welce and left earlier than planned even though I could have had an extended check out as a gold member.He was not interested in appeasing a situation and seemed to have very poor people skills so I am not sure how he became a manager.

We booked a double standard room which was so tiny. No place to put luggage. The bathroom was so tiny, an acquaintance described it like a coffin! The hotel upgraded us to a bigger room ( at cost) but was so much better. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Hotel was a short walk to Hyde Park & Paddington Station, very convenient.

lovely service at a lovely hotel

What makes this hotel special is the staff. The gentleman who helped with our bags and the young woman at the desk were welcoming, friendly, polite, and very helpful -- the kind of service so rarely seen when traveling these days. They made us feel like guests, not just customers. The hotel itself is lovely and perfectly located for Paddington station. The one downside is that, as others have mentioned, there is literally nowhere to put your clothes, even in a superior room -- no hangers, no drawers, not even a suitcase rack. Even small rooms can be made more accommodating, so I hope the hotel will rethink the use of limited space; I'd much rather have somewhere to hang up my clothes than have an extensive mini-bar!

For a short overnight stay it was fine, but the rooms are very tiny - as is the sink in the bathroom, not really usable. Housekeeping entered our room twice without announcing - for one night’s stay I don’t understand why they’d need to at all. Breakfast was very basic

This is a beautiful, obviously newly renovated hotel done in lovely decor. It is perfectly situated (5 minute walk) from Paddington Station which is why we chose it. The staff were welcoming and gracious. Our room, charmingly called a "cabin" was ridiculously small even for London standards which is why I gave the 2 star rating. Due to some glitch the door to our room did not have a room number (?). We did have a king size bed with beautiful linen but the only other piece of furniture in the room was a small day bed located 14 inches from the bed. This was the only place to put our two carry on suitcases. The room had no closet, chair, dresser, desk, luggage rack nor any place these items could have been located. With our (very small) suitcases on the daybed there was no other place to sit in the room besides the bed.The bathroom was reasonable size but alas, no place to set down toiletries. There were only 2 electrical outlets in the entire room. The view from our window was an outside staircase. The hotel does have a gym but my husband was told that it was already occupied by the maximum of 2 people and he was thus unable to use it.

A Beautiful Hotel with Room for Improvement

Grand Hôtel Bellevue offers a beautiful interior and a convenient location just a short walk from Paddington Station. The surrounding area is relatively quiet, making it a pleasant place to return to after a busy day in the city. That said, I did find myself questioning the transparency of certain aspects of the hotel’s operations. I had paid for an upgrade to an Executive room, but the layout and size of the space closely resembled that of a Deluxe room. Given my profession, I carry tools that allow for accurate measurement of room dimensions, and the space appeared to match the specifications of the lower-tier category. While my stay was generally comfortable, I believe a more transparent and consistent approach regarding room classifications and paid upgrades would help strengthen trust and improve the overall guest experience.

I have never stayed in a room where there was nowhere to hang your clothes other than one hook on the wall. No closet, no hangers. Nothing. Not great for a business trip when you need your shirts to be hung properly.
