The staff was great. Housekeeping noticed that I really needed a new pillow and left one for me while I was out. The food and beer selection was amazing!
I have never stayed in a dirtier place like this! The rooms were super smelly and the toilets were horrendous, no toilet paper and dirt everywhere!! The area was also super unsafe. Drunks everywhere. Especially this hostel has a bar downstairs that gets super noisy all night and you can hear people from the rooms since you have to have a window open since the room smelled like socks!
Great as it got a pub downstairs that’s open 24/7 :) negative, tiny boxes so hard to stretch when sleeping. At least u know how it feels to sleep in a casket
But that said if I seek a pub and a bed, this be where I come back too
As an avid hostel traveler, I can confidently say that the location was the only benefit here. No outside food or drink allowed, and there's no common space other than the pub, which I'm sure is intentional so that guests feel compelled to spend more money.
Bunks are stacked three high in the 9-bed rooms and there isn't enough space to sit up; quite uncomfortable. Lockers are not large enough to store a standard carry-on suitcase but thankfully no one messed with my belongings. I arrived to my dorm room with two sick guests already present and tested positive for Covid two days later. The breakfast I purchased here was also quite disappointing; a river of beans drenched everything else on my plate (where other restaurants typically put them in a small bowl), so the toast arrived soggy.
I was only passing through London and needed a cheap bed to catch an early flight, but next time I'll splurge for a hotel instead.
