Mediocre stay

Disappointing stay. Prior to my stay I visited the hotel to ensure its fit for purpose for the night before a big exam. I reserved well in advance and was given a lousy room, being told they have reservations (I reserved). I then ended up with a room that had a defective lock, so I couldn’t even leave for security purposes. I ordered a lemonade and had to leave my room unlocked to get it from reception. Breakfast was great, but how can you have a comfortable stay without basics like your door locking.

Hotel was very nice, clean and modern. Would stay again. Area was busy, not a lot of bars. Staff on check in appeared quite rude, but otherwise no problems. Parking is £20 per day but secure car park.

Online check in and check out was very convenient. It is in a good location right next to Southgate tube station and many shops and restaurants. I was attending the snooker at Alexandra Palace and it is easy to drive there in about 20 minutes. The room was clean and pleasant, had a fridge and a kettle and the bed was really comfortable- I slept really well. Parking at the hotel was easy but at a cost of £20 per night The criticisms that I had are that the electronic do not disturb and please clean the room signs were not working. Also the hotel provide teabags coffee and milk, and toiletries in the bathroom which were not replenished until I asked. If they are going to provide these things they should be checked and refilled. Overall it is a good hotel and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Quiet but very convenient as Piccadilly line from Southgate station is 3 minutes walk. Rooms are clean but with very basic amenities. No telephone in the room, restaurant only offering pizza. Reception very helpful and polite. Room cleaning once every 3 days.
