Modern Hotel

Good choice if you stay in North London

Southgate Hotel is in a great location if you stay in North London, just a five-minute walk from Southgate Underground Station, making it easy to access Central London. The hotel is newly furnished with a stylish and modern look. The standard room is relatively spacious compared to typical hotel rooms in Europe. The staff are friendly and helpful. I stayed there for four days, and while the overall cleanliness was good, the housekeeping service was somewhat lacking. Upon check-in, I noticed there was water left in the kettle. Additionally, my mugs were not cleaned unless I specifically requested it. However, other facilities were well-maintained, clean, and fairly new. The bathroom, in particular, was in excellent condition, and the towels were clean and looked almost brand-new. I stayed on the first floor. On the second day of my stay, I encountered a security concern—someone was waiting on my floor and followed me in after I used my access card. I reported this to the reception, and the staff were very helpful. They assured me they would investigate the matter, check the CCTV footage, and take appropriate action. I would suggest that the hotel consider installing a secure access system for the lifts to enhance guest safety. Overall, despite the minor issues, I found the staff to be very friendly and responsive.

Everything about this hotel was amazing!!! The friendly, attentive and responsive staff the high-quality finish of the beautiful room it’s convenience forgetting to Piccadilly Circus ( 35 minutes). It was like home from home. I stayed for 10 days. The only slight downside is that there’s a very noisy café next door. Come nightclub it was exceptionally loud on Saturday night.

Overall a really positive experience.

Personal experience of this hotel was really positive. Room was clean, staff friendly, felt modern and quiet (appreciate this is largely dependent on other guests staying at the same time). 2 minute walk to the tube which takes straight into central. We'd stay again. I just wish these hotels didnt charge so much for parking, or hide this more in the price and then make it free - would make it so much more attractive. Their carpark was empty basically so if they rethought their strategy (free if staying more than 2 nights, or free for returning guests), they may get more uptake.
