Very expensive parking but that’s Venice beach. Breakfast was good. Staff was good. Rooms were comfortable. Rooftop dining was quite nice. Only downside is it’s quite loud at night but they provide earplugs on check in

I was disappointed with the age and cleanliness of the hotel. There was noticeable aging with heavily scratched furniture and paint chipped walls. There was a stuffy odor, likely due to the carpet, and the curtains in the bedroom had multiple stains. Overall, for a 4-star property, I expected better.

Watching the sun set over LA from Hotel Erwin’s rooftop bar while enjoying a crisp beer, The warmth of heat lamps, and one of the best burritos of my life was easily a highlight of my 4-day LA trip. And our 6th floor balcony view was just about as stellar

Fine hotel near Venice Beach, so easily walkable. Downside - the price was high for what the area offers. Our room faced the ocean with a balcony, which was lovely. Parking was (pricey) valet. Staff was helpful but slow with check in. (Possibly because of victims from the LA fires who appeared to be living at the hotel - so just an overworked staff doing their best.) Excellent pizza place in the hotel building. Small bar in the lobby which was also where the included breakfast was provided. Very, very crowded breakfast, but decent and with a staff working very hard. Overall we enjoyed the hotel, but the area did not feel safe at night. Not much in the area in the boardwalk in my opinion either. But the beach is fantastic.

unfriendly approach to the customer

We had a reservation for that fateful moment when the fires broke out. And they blocked us, we couldn't get to LA in any reasonable time. So we asked to cancel our stay, but the hotel refused. Normally I would even understand this, but it was beyond our control and our wants - the truth is that we would have stayed there a few days / weeks later. But with such an approach to a crisis situation and not caused by the customer, never again.
