This property is advertised as a hotel with a functioning in-room kitchen; however, the experience felt more like staying in an apartment complex than a hotel, particularly based on the condition of the common areas and the overall environment. The kitchen itself had no utensils, dishes, or glasses, making it unusable without bringing your own supplies. Cleanliness was a concern. The carpets were filthy and furniture was heavily worn, and the air filter was dated 2/2024 and it looked like it. Towels left lint or debris on the skin after use. The building was not staffed 24/7, and two entrances were unsecured 24 hours a day. There was no coffee maker in the room and no coffee available in the lobby. Hot water was limited due to a small water heater and leaking showers. Bedding quality was below expectations, with small throw pillows. The biggest issue was inaccurate advertising. Had expectations been set more clearly, I would have prepared differently or chosen another property. Additionally, although I disclosed traveling with a pet at booking and check-in by signing a consent and paid the stated total, I was later informed of an unexpected additional $70 pet fee. We paid $600 for 3 nights. Clearer communication and improved cleanliness and maintenance would significantly improve the experience.

The Sonesta Simply Suites Memphis East Poplar Pike should not operate as a hotel until a complete renovation is done to the entire facility. The staff I encountered were friendly and pleasant. The lobby area was clean and the furniture in this area appeared to be in good condition. The condition of my hotel room, the elevator and the hallways are clear signs that the hotel is not in the best shape. The rear entry door to the building was never locked during the two days of my stay. The door appeared to be broken. My room was in terrible condition - the carpet was dirty and had stains throughout, there were dirt marks on the wall, a hole in the wall in near the dining area, the vents were full of dust, the room smelled of cigarette smoke, the baseboard in the kitchen was damaged, the oven needed a deep cleaning, the bathtub faucet had a consistent leak, the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling from water damage, and there were roaches in the bathroom.

Room was extremely dirty, stains on Furnature, headrests, carpet. Kitchen didn't have any Apliances but it was advertised inline with the pictures as extended suite with all essential appliances. Missing cabinet doors and drawers, Room door was not able to close completely it was safety hazard, Roches walking on the walls and selling, Very musty smell, nearly any Furnature at the breakfast island was only one broken chair, Refrigater was making a very loud noice, Bathroom sink didn't have stopper and the water wold drain very slowly after each use vary nasty

The bed had no blanket only a sheet, when i called the front desk they stated they didnt have anymore. I had to sleep with my sweatsuit in to stay warm. The shower curtain rod was bent so the curtain couldnt stay closed so the shower head had to be angled to avoid water goi g in the floor. There were no utensils, glasses or plates in the kitchen area to use and one of the cabinets in the kitchen was broken
