We enjoyed our stay overall. The security guard was a bit rude. The air conditioning hardly worked. The outside noise was crazy because there was a concert. I wish I would’ve known that the hotel is at the center of a very busy plaza. There was no drive up access so prepare to walk about 1/4 mile from the drop off zone. Depending on the event, parking and pick up/drop off could be much farther. The hotel needs a better cleaning staff and walls need to be wiped down. The construction / maintenance department needs a bit of training. Probably Won’t stay here again, not unless we Go for the September 16th event. Very thankful overall.

As it's name says it's a GREAT hotel in all the sense of the word. Since arrival everything was perfect, lobby and the Tiffany glass ceiling is absolutely spectacular. Abraham and Jael were extremely courteous, super servicial and very professional. Mariano at the front desk gave us an excellent service. We booked the Zócalo view room and it was super comfortable, and the view is breathtaking. Hotel made the arrangements for our transportation during our 7 day stay and put us in contact with Flavio who took us to dinner every night to different restaurants, waited for us and brought us back to the hotel regarding the hour or the time we took on our dinner. Thanks to all for making our stay in Mexico City a marvelous one. We definitely recommend El Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico and we hope to go back. Manuel Borges

The hotel is lovely but can’t sleep with the outside noise and the above noise on the rooftop restaurant. It sounded like they kept moving chairs and tables. Impossible to fall asleep ☹️

Our stay was amazing! Our luggage was held for us since we arrived early so we were able to get out and see the sights. All of the staff were extremely attentive and provided excellent service. When we finally came in we were served some lovely bubbly. The lounge area for guests was a nice touch too. This historic hotel is absolutely beautiful. I would likely come back and stay here again.
