The beautiful Gran Hotel offers a historical building lover's delight. The restaurant is open air with a fantastic view of the Zocalo but can be very breezy. We found the breakfast expensive. The staff is attentive.

I spent the final night of a 12-night trip to Mexico City and San Miguel de Allende at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico, located in the Historic Center with a fantastic view of the Zocalo from the rooftop restaurant. The room was very comfortable, the staff was excellent, and the food, including the buffet breakfast, was good. I recommend a stay here.
