Our recent stay at Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay, Jamaica, was absolutely beautiful. The resort is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the airport. We booked round-trip transportation in advance, and the service was smooth and reliable. The resort itself is breathtaking. The grounds are immaculately kept—huge kudos to the landscaping and maintenance crew. The food and drinks were fantastic! We especially loved the different outdoor food stations scattered throughout the property—ice cream, smoothies, and grilling stations made it fun and super convenient for guests to grab a bite while enjoying the resort. Room cleanliness was just okay. While the basics were covered, the curtains definitely need some attention—they should be washed or treated. That would make a big difference. As for the staff, not everyone was friendly, but there were a few who went out of their way to smile and greet us. The entertainment team, on the other hand, was amazing—especially Crazy Legs! His energy and vibe made the experience extra fun. On our final evening, we had a romantic dinner on the beach, and it was truly special. Holly made the evening unforgettable—she even came to our room to personally escort my husband and me to our beautifully set table on the beach. Overall, the resort has so much to offer and left us with some beautiful memories. With a few small improvements, it could be a perfect getaway spot!

It was our first all inclusive. The good: Lamar!! Crazy Legs! The beach was gorgeous and we were able to snorkel and see lots of different fish and sea life. The buffet food was good and the Brazilian place was amazing!! I wish I would’ve gotten another spot. Pool was fun, clean, and pool volleyball was fun! The not so good: A la Carte restaurants always needed reservations. We would try to go just to see if they had extra room for our group and they wouldn’t, even though the place was empty and remained empty the entire time other group members were eating. The place seemed like it could use some updates. Our A/C didn’t work all the time. The hair dryer only worked if you tapped it on your hand. Staff became disgruntled when we had to use their elevator, when the other 2 were broken down. Speaking of staff, the swim up pool bar on adults side- first group were grumpy and would barely wait on us, we even tipped. The morning bartenders there were not friendly or helpful at all. The second group of bartenders or the ones later in our stay were a million times better. I felt like I had to tip for everything I did. That was a huge downfall. And even if we tipped the service wasn’t any better. Also, no one would walk around and wait on you at pool or beach, you had to go to bar. I did have plenty of food and alcohol for the days we were there and enjoyed the pool and beach. Maybe I was expecting something else. Not really sure, like I said first one.

The hotel room was dirty after being moved the room that we moved to the AC was not working, the manager told us because we book through and not them we get the left over room. The food was horrible and I got food poison from the oysters and clams . I will not go back to that hotel.

I recently stayed at the Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay in Jamaica, and overall, it was a memorable experience. The resort is beautifully located along the northern coast, offering stunning ocean views and lush tropical surroundings. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always greeting us with smiles and making sure we felt comfortable. The room was spacious and clean, with a lovely balcony view of the beach. Although some furniture felt a bit dated, the housekeeping team did a great job keeping everything tidy. One of the highlights was the variety of dining options. From Jamaican specialties to international cuisine, the food was delicious and the service attentive. I especially enjoyed the themed restaurants, though reservations were sometimes hard to get. The poolside entertainment was lively and fun, with activities like Zumba and volleyball throughout the day. If you're looking for peace and quiet, though, the music and crowd might be a bit much at times. The beach area was nice but not ideal for swimming—it’s more of a lagoon-style setup with shallow water. Still, it was perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. The checkout was a bit annoying . We waited for a while since we arrived at 1 o’clock. We were not in our rooms until 3:30. They never offered to take our bags and put them in storage so we walked around with them for almost 2 1/2 hours. Our room needed a facelift shower needs to be remodeled, one charger for United States, USB, which was next to the refrigerator which would sort out because it would get too hot. Highly recommend bringing a converter . Overall the room felt like it was in the 1980s food was OK. Seafood night was excellent. Highly recommend dining at Dan Pablo. NYAM I lasted 10 minutes it was very hot .I recommend Jasmin for breakfast. The bar music at the pool was obnoxious. Your best bet is to sit at the private beach. There’s a cute hut. You can get your drinks there. We also enjoyed eating outside overall. It was a good trip, but the hotel needs a facelift. It also takes an hour to get there from the airport.

This was a family trip with 4 of us and there were multiple issues. 1. The food was not up to par. 2. The beach is rocky. (Rocks covered in sand). 3. There was an issue with the door handle in our room for the bathroom and it bruised my wife and she got stuck until i came back. 4. We saw a small roach in the buffet at the Brazilian restaurant Los Olas.
