Would go back again!!

We spent 11 nights in Hotel Los Arcos in July 2014 and would definitely recommend it if you were looking for somewhere quiet and away from the hubbub of the centre of Nerja. It is a very attractive hotel with a lovely swimming pool area, comfy loungers with cushions, pool towels supplied fresh every day. We paid the extra to be upgraded to a superior double room with large terrace and were not disappointed with our room and balcony. We were in room 205, which seems to be the largest room and definitely the largest balcony! We could have had a party for 30-40 people on our balcony! It was huge, our own comfy loungers, again with comfy cushions, table & chairs, sun umbrella and our own outdoor shower...all on the balcony!! The staff were very friendly and helpful, always smiling. The happy hour (from 5 to 9) every day was great value...4 pints of Alhambra for €6.20! And the crème de la crème was the Brasserie Ibericas attached to the hotel. In our experience it was far and away the best restaurant in Nerja. It is a gourmet Tapas restaurant and the food was delicious. A 'proper' restaurant where they put as much effort into the preparation and flavour of the veg etc as they put into the meat/fish/chicken etc.....delicious. If I had to have a moan about anything I would mention that the breakfast is fairly basic but available till 11am which is great when on holidays and enjoying lie-ins, and the walk up and down the hill to the centre of Nerja is a bit tedious. However the local blue bus passes by the hotel every hour #at approx. 20 mins past the hour# and is only €1. You can sit and have a drink #buy one get one free# outside the hotel in the evening and watch for the bus going up from the centre and stroll across the road and get the bus back down to the centre...saves you waiting at the bus stop. Or the taxi service is good and is only €7 for every trip around Nerja. So maybe walk down the hill for the evening and get a taxi back. A trip to Frigiliani is recommended and you can get the bus from the central bus station for €1.70. We also visited the caves of Nerja and that was pleasant enough....again get the bus from the central bus station for €1.70 #on the opposite side of the road to the bus to Frigiliani#. There is a nice mix of age groups in Nerja and in the hotel altho more suitable to an older age group #30+#. I will consider returning to Nerja and Hotel Los Arcos again.
