Absolutely wonderful stay! The building was old and classy, there was a cute pool, powerful air-conditioning, free bottled water, and it was a quick walking distance from shops and restaurants. The best part has to be the friendly staff, and the three cats in the lobby!

If you want to stay at a modern place with high end amenities, this is not the place for you. I loved the traditional New Orleans look and feel of this small boutique hotel. The hotel itself was an experience! The staff was helpful and gave good recommendations for restaurants and excursions.

Just about everything about this place was amazing. It's an ancient building moldering away in one of the most humid places--the French Quarter--on our planet, yet this hotel felt crisp and clean and brightly illuminated, albeit in a dark and mysterious way. I have a penchant for decay. I look for it everywhere. Yet I found it here more in atmosphere than in dilapidation. The all night watchman plays guitar to three slinky felines who curl, raise their backs, then curl again. The cats seem like embodied spirits who know a lot more about the universes than any of us reading this review. My two criticisms: an ambiance-destroying reference to a ghost that haunts the hotel--nothing drives out ghosts more than specific reference to them or, worse, trying to make them a brand of your hotel--and spotty WiFi, which continually reminded me that I hadn't stepped back into some mystical, Gothic southern past but that instead I'm still very much (as far as reality goes) living within the modern world.

Love the ambiance!!!! Loved the cats!!! Walking distance to all the nightlife, but also a bit quiet. Cant keep all the noise out, but its a party town. Pool was cool and comfortable, staff was helpful and kind. If you want to enjoy a stay in a time capsule, this was the best spot. Beds were comfortable, AC worked beautifully. Will definitely stay here next time we visit!

If you want an authentic stay and superb service there is no other place. 50 steps from Bourbon Street yet still quiet if you turn in early. A beautiful old New Orleans building with fantastic staff and bosses (the cats)! My second stay here and I will return.
