The main issue was the management.
The hotel listing on Expedia shows beautiful, modern photos, but the actual room was nothing like what was advertised. The room looked worn, outdated, and clearly not in the condition shown online.
There was also no disclosure that the windows could face a wall just a few feet away. In our case, the windows faced a wall only a couple of feet away, resulting in no natural light. This is a significant detail that should be clearly stated before booking.
The bathroom was in poor condition as well—the ceiling had visible holes and sagging plastic panels, which appeared unfinished and unappealing.
When we raised these concerns, the manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing the issues or offering solutions, she spoke dismissively and essentially told us, “We’ll refund you, you can leave and stay wherever you want.” This was especially upsetting as we had just arrived, were tired from traveling, and expected at least basic customer service.
The final straw happened at checkout, when the hotel charged nearly $600 for an alleged smoking fee. We do not smoke or vape at all. Despite this, the charge was placed on our card, and I had to spend significant time, energy, and stress proving that we did not smoke in the room in order to get the money back.
