When I checked in I was given a different room than I had reserved. They explained they were oversold. Which is not my problem. They offered no compensation. But the room turned out to be fine. The hotel smelled like there was a dead animal in the wall. It was hard to stand in the hallway or walk to the room bc the smell was so bad. The staff was nice. The doors got locked late night and the room card didn’t open the doors (even though they still worked to open the door to our room). We hit the buzzer multiple times and no staff arrived. Luckily my other son was still in the room and he came and let us in.

Staff was courteous. Negatives were substantial. On 5th floor 95 Henry st Ny, constant odor of garbage, clearly not vacuumed every day.Inconsistent heat in 519. Room clean enough but no housekeeping on 12/14. We were out from before noon until 9PM. Fire alarm blinks all night. (Turn the bed!). Dates on stay are incorrect. It was 12/12-15.

Excellent place to stay - short walk to Manhattan Bridge and stop for the BigBus. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice with lots of options - one particular lady at breakfast was really lovely. A massive thank you to her (unfortunately did not get her name) Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a comfortable, safe and economical place to stay. Everything was clean and hygienic. Only thing was there is not a laundry as described but we were not desperate for one, so didn’t really matter - overhead a few people voicing their disappointment.
