Cheap stay in NYC

Room was dirty, there was a hole in the ceiling in the shower, curtain was broken so it didn't block the light out at night. Most of the staff was nice (especially cleaning ladies) but a couple at the front desk were rude.

Absolutely like nothing represented in the Expedia photos. They look nothing like the property. We were so surprised and displeased we checked out the moment we got there. Staff were indifferent. So it seems this happens a lot. We booked a king suite with sofa bed, and got a dingy supposed king bed right next to a dark and dingy kitchen. And there was no sofa bed in an anteroom. And no anteroom. The hallways and lobby were dark and poorly lit. We were shocked for the price we paid. $400+. My son did not feel safe. So we immediately left. And went to the Conrad in lower Manhattan and got a superb king suite for less than 32 32. Take note. 32-32 =0 , which is what I wish I could rate this place. Guests beware!

Terrible room!

When we entered the room we knew this wasn’t a good hotel. The baseboards were stained from a flood. That was disgusting! The bed was comfortable but couldn’t sleep well because the AC was very loud. The bathroom door was destroyed on the bottom from a possible flood. The walls looked like they haven’t been cleaned or painted in a long time. For $300 a night this had to be the worst hotel I’ve stayed at and I learned my lesson because I’ll stay at Hilton for now on. I thought I would try this hotel because it received good reviews but it was terrible. The front desk staff lack any communication skills. The guy working at night was dressed in a hoodie and sweatpants. Terrible dress code! It seems no one is managing the hotel!

Staff at front desk is awesome, super helpful. The hotel is split between a north and south tower, room pictures on their website did not match quite as we expected when we arrived -- lobby is quite different in reality, our room had a less well-lit feel. Garbage trucks audible from the room almost every night. Positive note - bathroom towels & shower - excellent. Wifi inconsistent (not strong & drops out). Mini kitchen - no towels / soap provided for dishes. Frig doesn't have a freezer. Great location in terms of proximity to MTA lines. Not sure if we'll pick this location again.

Great location—within walking distance to many iconic NYC sights. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. However, the bathroom felt a bit worn and could use either a renovation or more thorough cleaning. Check-in was just okay. When we arrived, there was no one in the building, so we had to wait a while to check in. The staff didn’t come across as friendly and seemed pretty disengaged. Also, something to keep in mind: the property has two separate buildings. One has the lobby and amenities shown in the photos, including the bar and gym. The other building—located across the street—is where all the rooms are, according to staff. So, if those amenities are important to you, know that you'll need to walk over to access them.
