Hotel the Villa is one of the most economical hotels in the Manhattan/Queens area. Unfortunately, the area between the metro stop and the hotel feels a bit unsafe at night with quite a few homeless people. That being said, no one bothered us during our stay. From the metro stop, a person needs to walk through Queensbridge Housing project, where there was a visible police presence, so we felt safe enough.
The hotel room is sparsely furnished. There is only one nightstand and one chair. The room is also quite dark with only two lights, one above the nightstand and one near the entrance. The room has a refrigerator. There is no microwave in the room, but there are several available on floor C, which is in the basement.
The major annoyance with the lack of hot water. The water from the sink is hot enough, but the water is in the shower was not warm enough for a comfortable shower.
