1. First, as predicted by almost every review, they have refused to return the unnecessary $200.00 security deposit, and it is now more than 10 days since departing the hotel. That is theft and fraud. I was told it would be returned upon departure. That is lying. 2. For the price, the room was claustrophically small, and the elevator was even smaller. 3. Arriving and departing was a nightmare; no one offered any assistance with our luggage; AND, the hotel allowed cars and trucks and taxis to park in front so one had to drag their bags down the block to get into and out of the hotel. The hotel next door had cones and people assuring their entrance area was accessible, but not the Oyo hotel. Will not stay there again.

the room was insanely hot, too hot to sleep in and the temperature could not be lowered. the shower was an open concept that did not drain properly, the water pooled everywhere on the floor except for the drain. rooms don’t come standard with a mini-fridge

The air conditioning did not work. There were dirty towels and a headband left hanging on shower rod. Did not remove dirty towels from the shower floor. No ice machine. I would not spend more than 125a night to stay there. Not sure how these hotels get away with selling such a rundown product.

I booked two queen rooms. On arrival, we got extremely small rooms, barely bigger than the beds. both rooms AC didn’t work, and despite multiple calls, no one came to fix it. With a 15-month-old and elderly parents, it was unbearable. My husband was told the fuse was blown and they couldn’t offer another room due to full occupancy. We were promised a fan that never came. We had to sleep with the door open, risking our safety, and struggled to breathe in the heat. The next day, we were moved to cooler rooms with smaller beds—not what we paid for. The AC there was loud and disruptive. Worse, my father fell and scraped his face on a metal nightstand. The hotel had no first aid kit until I pushed for help. I explained everything to the manager, who promised a refund for the first night and said it would be processed via Expedia. I followed up, and at checkout was told the refund would be honored. But later, Expedia said the hotel denied ever promising it. After all the distress, the hotel broke its word. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I do not recommend this place at all.

Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy our stay at OYO. The whole place needs attention. The AC is so noisy, there appears to be a complete lack of soundproofing in the rooms. Every car horn, every noise was like you were there at street level.But ear plugs were left for us to use. A hotel room should be an area to recalibrate ready for the next adventure, to relax and recharge. Unfortunately this is not the case. The cleaning staff were lovely and I can appreciate their hard work. I would not recommend this hotel. It’s a real shame as it’s surrounded by other hotels. The staff are lovely, Serendipity 3 is cute and quirky but the hotel really lets it down.

TV and shower issues

Staff was very pleasant, lobby was nice, etc. Rooms are tiny but most hotels in New York at this price point, you get the same set up. Unless you have samsung or fluent in Spanish, you cannot watch tv in the room. For some reason there are only 5 channels. When you key in a channel number, it still only takes you to the 5 channels. You can cast but it needs to connect to the mobile device. Which doesn’t work with an iPhone and go figure, needs internet. Outside of the tv only having a few channels (all but one in Spanish) and not connecting to the internet, the shower size was the biggest of my concern. The shower bar was put in too close to the actual showering area. This means when you get in the shower you are wrestling with the curtain being under your arm bc it’s that tight. Even my child couldn’t shower without getting stuck in the curtain. For reference, we measured and you have 13in between the wall and the curtain (that’s without turning the water on) Good news is when you’re visiting your shouldn’t be spending a lot of time in your room anyway

The elevators were extremely slow and very small. The room was bare—no basic amenities were provided unless requested, including essentials like soap or a mini fridge. The towels were incredibly old and worn out, practically unusable. While the location was decent, the overall experience was far from comfortable and definitely not worth recommending.
