Excellent stay in Manhattan

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The location was perfect—close to top attractions, restaurants, and public transit. The room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for the city. Staff were friendly and attentive. I’d absolutely stay here again!

The walls are practically nonexistent. I could not sleep as I basically listened to a baseball game all night. You can hear even normal TV levels at full volume through the wall. The room stank of cigarettes. Some snazzy furniture upgrades cannot hide the fact that this is an old, shoddily built hotel lacking effort. Front desk staff were okay but inconsistent on information - at once telling me there were no other rooms and then saying there were but I’d have to wait til 1 am to move. No coffee maker in room seems odd for a 4star property. HVAC and AC were extremely loud and old. All in all, a place to crash if necessary and that’s about it.

Very roomy accommodations! Clean room, large, well-appointed bathroom. Excellent service. Bed not great for our backs. Walls kind of thin (we were awakened to screaming baby next door, and kept awake to children running around, shrieking, next door.

Really disappointed with this hotel. We chose it based on reviews from various sites and thought it would be top notch for my 50th birthday. The walls were paper thin… the air con so noisy and old, we had to turn it off. Full of kids on summer camps… couldn’t sleep. The only good thing was the location.

Romer was the right price and the right place!

Nice boutique hotel in a very central location. Many restaurants and other attractions within walking distance. Staff was very nice. Rooms were clean and eclectic. No real restaurant or bar onsite, but the market cafe had some good options for beer and wine. Grab and go food was decent too.
