That sounds like a great review! To make it flow better while keeping that casual, excited tone, here are a few options, focusing on tightening the structure and making it punchier: Option 1: Emphasis on the Relief & Win I spent hours trying to find the perfect hotel in Lower Manhattan, and I was so nervous a bad one would totally ruin our trip. But I took the shot on The Belvedere, and holy cow, it was an absolute win! The rooms were large and spotless, the beds were super soft and comfy, and let me tell you, the water pressure, hot water, and shower head were all fantastic. The location was unbeatable, too: A safe, quiet street across from a school. You are 2.5 blocks from times sq, but you can't hear it. We slept with the windows open without issue. We also walked back late night/early morning without a concern. My child walked to 7-11 a few blocks away and I had no concerns. Only two blocks from the C and E train. Two bodegas right on the same block (seriously, go to Hells Kitchenette! Delicious and half the price for a breakfast sandwich on an incredible bagel). A block away from a ton of delicious, cheaper restaurants in Hell's Kitchen. My only suggestion/downside? The coffee was pretty bad. Honestly, if that's the worst thing that happens on a trip, I'll take it!

The first room they gave me had a heating system that didn’t work and it required three visits from engineers to determine it could not be fixed and had to be replaced. During all this the front desk were friendly enough to send up an extra blanket and a tiny portable heater, but there was no offer to give me a new room, let alone an upgrade or a refund for part of my stay—not even a drink or breakfast voucher for spending the night in a freezing cold room. When at last the engineer said he had to replace the whole unit and there would be a lot of noise and dust, so I asked for a new room, they gave me a room with an in-window unit that sounded like a jet taking off. This hotel is old and tired. And a nightdress left behind in the room switch disappeared immediately and was never handed in.

Decent midtown hotel with some charm and character. Room size was decent, with good functional bathroom. I personally found the beds really uncomfortable with lumpy pillows to match. Bed seemed short as my feet were hanging over the end, something I don't experience at home. Lobby and hallways feel dark and cramped, so hotel has a busy feel. Room TV on the smaller size of what most travellers come to expect . Currently undergoing elevator upgrade which puts a strain on access to and from the floors above. Not terrible, but not amazing either

Check in was too slow with a long line and only two staff at front desk. One had a problem finding information on her computer and distracted the other staff member creating a 5 minute delay in moving the line. This was really awful totally ignored the customers.

My cousin and I stayed at the Belvedere for our birthday month trip in Nov 2025. Getting to New York was disastrous, as we got caught up in the multitude of flight cancellations when both airports shut down due to a shortage of air traffic controllers. We ended up checking in the next day at 4:30 am! The front desk customer service personnel were so sympathetic! They gave us a very nice updated room on the 16th floor with a stunning city view! We were there on Halloween weekend, and also for the NY Marathon. Lots of runners were staying at the hotel. We enjoyed this hotel so much! The staff were so friendly! Every single one of them. We went to the restaurant for happy hour, and it was great!! Also, one of the bellmen suggested we get Chinese takeout at a place called The Corner (literally on the corner, down the street from the hotel) and we loved it so much we went there twice! Try their sirloin egg rolls. Yum! I try to travel to New York at least once a year, and I’ve found my happy place from now on. The Belvedere Hotel!
