Very convenient place, had a lot of shops and restaurants near by. Also not to far from times squar and Empire state building. Madison Square Garden is like just next door and cery cool.

Classy restaurant, with great staff, and a little bit older rooms (bathroom was very small). Maintenance dept could use some improvement - complained that our room safe did not work but it was never fixed, and bathtub faucet dripped a lot.

Check-in was friendly and fast. Room was a typical small NYC hotel room - nothing fancy - but clean and relatively comfortable. However, I was placed near a large group and they knocked on my door several times thinking I was with them. Very startling. The next morning, whoever they were looking for must have been late, as they called the phone 1.5 hrs before my needed wake up time. I was annoyed and ended up not even staying there the last night.

1950’s Dump Hotel

This place is a dump. Rooms look like they haven’t been updated in 50 years. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, carpet dirty, bathrooms look like a public restroom at a campground. For the price, stay anywhere but here.

The New Yorkers location was outstanding! We specifically wanted to be near the LIRR and had heard issues about the safety in the area. We did NOT find any issues that any city doesn’t have. The staff was fantastic!

Right off the bat, I was greeted by a really rude person at reception named Jose C. who made it feel like he was doing me a favor by checking me in. The room I was given was not only noise-y - all of the street noise was incoming and on top of that I could hear every single flush/shower sound my next door neighbor made, the bed also had torn and stained bedsheets. Upon request my room was changed, once again, the bedsheets smelled like someone's perfume and I ended up going back to the room I was originally in only to be woken up by the sounds of showering in the next room. They changed my room again, and this time the bed was so hard, it was like sleeping on cardboard. I finally checked out 2 days early after a lot of back and forth with hotels.com and the hotel staff. The building is super dilapidated and the rooms are just shabby. If you care about your sleep and your well being, I would stay away from the New Yorker.

Close to absolutely everything. Love the huge gym and washers and dryers. Our room was very outdated (old rug, old curtains, paint chipping) There was AC but it didnt work well and we were very hot. Because the hotel is old, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from other rooms and the hallway.
