Loved it! Cheap, clean, showers were nice & hot despite reviews saying otherwise. Only stayed for 1 night and would stay again!

Liked: Cleanliness
Be prepared for an experience. Maybe I am too old for hostel life but this was just a bizarro set up for me. It was a very long/windy walk to the bathroom. The lattice ceilings seemed bizarre-they didn’t offer any sound protection (locks opening up doors echoed) but made the teeny tiny room feel even smaller. The mattresses were very comfortable. The design choices of the lobby seemed to play up the seedy vibe (black paint everywhere/dimly lit) with furniture that was probably in good shape but looked super worn. So it wasn’t seedy but tended to be seedy. Checkin fellow was nice.

Disliked: Amenities
It's way smaller than you expect and there isn't any real ceiling. You are literally in a cubicle.

Liked: Cleanliness
It was unique and clean. Didn’t like you could bring food into your room.
The staff was great!
The cleanliness was ok...restocking TP seemed to be an issue
The noise level was a bit too much at some points
The outlets were TERRIBLE. My electronics kept falling out!
I didn't like that you do hear everyone coming & going from their unit rooms or "pods"; so you do need earplugs to sleep reasonably well. I did like the rest of the hostel. They have beautiful very pretty lobbies in there, a downstairs sitting "bar looking" front door room; and the kitchen is nice. The bathrooms are cute looking/nice.
The location is in Lower Manhattan Soho area. Easy to walk around. Clean and other guests are amazing travelers. I stayed on the women-only floor. There were 2 occasions where a Man wandered in. I just told both of them that this is women-only floor. I felt it was important due to the accessibility of the community showers. Both men apologized and obliged. Front desk service, Steven and Edgar are real Angels and absolute professionals. I would stay again and recommend. It's small rooms, but for a safe, easily accessible, and quiet place in NYC for a solo traveler, it is fantastic.

Great, stayed 6 nights. All was quiet except for the first night, someone with definite issues walking the place. More than a great deal in Manhattan for a solo female. Wonderful subway access, area
I booked a room, but it was not a room. It was two walls without a roof in a dark maze in a massice hall full of people. There was one restroom per 40 or more people. Someone was shouting on the phone all night, I didnt get barely any sleep. It smelled terrible too and luggage didn’t fit into the ”room”. I’m a short person and yet the bed was too short. There were blood stains on the sheets. Prisons at home are better.
No frills (for those looking for it), but if you're here to experience NYC and not stay in a hotel room 24/7, it's ideal and reasonably priced. The staff is the best. Better than 4 star hotels I've been at.

This is basically a self storage building but for humans. The pods are closets that don’t even have ceilings. It’s basically cubicles with doors. Would never return.
