The room itself was a decent size, but the furniture felt noticeably cheap and poorly made. The beds were a major letdown. They were very small, definitely not true doubles, and extremely uncomfortable, which made sleeping properly quite difficult over a longer stay.
The bathroom was a good size, but again you could tell corners had been cut. Small details like the lack of a soft-close toilet seat stood out and made it obvious that the hotel prioritises style over quality.
Staff were pleasant enough, but not particularly polished or professional for what is marketed as a five-star hotel. The public spaces were also disappointing, especially the lobby.
There was nowhere comfortable to sit while waiting for a taxi, which felt like a strange omission for a hotel of this size and positioning.
Overall, this is not a bad hotel, but it is very overpriced for what it offers. I would not consider it 5*, and there are better options in New York at a similar price point.
