They do a great service by providing budget accommodation in NY. Staff was super helpful and responsive to my requests. Convenient location, safe area. A previous review mentioned the $10 daily fee that should have been added up front. They said they’d notified their partners so maybe an oversight by Expedia. The mini store in the pics is not there but plenty of places within a block to buy things.

The rooms are small but we didn't need much room since we were only there to sleep, change, and shower. So didn't mind sharing bathrooms with others, either. The floors could've been cleaner cuz there was hair on the floors, but other than that I would definitely stay there again if I ever go to new york again. Everything is so close by!! Central Park, Time Square, shopping and a variety of food carts to choose from!! The location is excellent, and so is the price!!

The staff were not polite. Gave keys with the wrong room number. Called security to throw a guest out even when the guest was right. Poor etiquette. Worst customer service. They don't care if you're a first-time visitor. They have a subtle charge they call "MEMBERSHIP". It's stated on the site that it was a HOTEL. Only to find out, it's a HOSTEL. If you MUST visit this place, brace yourself! The hallway had a funny odor.

The only thing that West YMCA needs to address is the shower. Tried to take a shower at night and hot water was not running at all. Other than it was fine.

A spot for brave souls on the budget

A spot for brave souls on the budget. The bed was ok, the floor is dirty. 3 showers for the whole floor… the smell in the room was weird, the room size ok. You would want to come there as late as possible and leave as early as you can to enjoy the city or what you are for in NY. There might be better budget options out there…

Basic dorm accommodations.

Good location and cool ac in private room. It is basically an old dorm room. I did like having access to the gym facilities. Only 1 towel was provided. No daily cleaning offered.

Good location, friendly check in, fast elevators. Spartan room. Shower and sink area always water standing. Shower water hard to regulate. Vending machines out of order. Location is perfect, though.

This property has major plumbing issues, shower backs up and overflows, no hot water, leaky sink. This place remind me of a homeless shelter.

Estuvo bueno, sirve mucho si paseas todo el día y solo necesitas lugar para dormir. Las camas y almohadas son algo toscas pero está pasable. Hay piscina y sauna disponible para los huéspedes. Es muy seguro. Detalles: La máquina de bebidas de mi piso no funcionaba y había que ir a otros pisos a comprar. También el techo del baño se cayó una noche, lo bueno es que lo arreglaron por la mañana. Estuvo bien para el precio y para la ubicación que es excelente.
