I checked in 5~25-25 and given room 228. Was not pleased, stained drapes, musty carpet, missed spots by housekeeping with dust, toilet handle needed jiggling after every flush. I assumed the quality of crowne plaza stay had just gone down. However it wasn’t until my last night I noticed an ant infestation, on the desk, where there was old food in a crevice. I’m not sure if they’re not in my clothing or other belongings. I was immediately moved to 427, a room that looked like it belonged in another hotel. All new fixtures, clean, fresh and comfortable. The manager Danielle said room 427 is not the standard for all the rooms, it’s only used when guests have complaints. What? Crowne knows about a bug infestation. Why isn’t every room clean and comfortable? I was given breakfast vouchers as if I want food from a hotel with bugs. Danielle’s reply was it was my choice not to use them, but would you? I was offered a discount, but my first two nights should have been waived. I will never stay here again. I was in a room with ants for days and they were so small I didn’t notice until my last night. Was put in a better room from the start!

The property is conveniently located near the Newark airport and there is a free airport shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes for 24 hours from the hotel to the airport. Unfortunately the hotel is very dated. Also, there is a bar/club very close to the hotel and the music is so loud until 2 am. It does the job for the price, but if not for the convenient location and shuttle bus, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

The room reeked. The front desk service was just okay. Key didn’t work for business center and had to return three times. At the third time, they also stopped my room access. Was double charged for parking. Issues with DoorDash delivery. Shuttle is always a few minutes late.

Not the best airport I have stayed at here.

Very nice staff but the hair dryer did not work, the room coffee maker did not work, and there was no stand for luggage. When I asked a maid for one she told me to call the front desk. That rang and rang until I finally gave up. Otherwise the room was comfortable, just poorly equipped. Breakfast buffet was $20.
