Stayed for girls trip for jazz fest. Barely used facilities that day. Next morning we did yoga outside - for me it was a bit distracting and buggy. The girls and I did decide to take the complimentary bikes to towards the mansions and that was so fun. I enjoyed that! When we got back we layed by pool which was packed but fine. I enjoyed the dj. The pull out couch bed was from a movie. When we took it out the mattress was tilting backwards, paper thin and sunk in the middle. I thought I was going to be eaten by the pull out couch! So uncomfortable. Next day we called concierge and requested roll away beds - better, but okay. Just be sure to order extra sheets and bedding!

The lobby, dining, and terrace are beautiful. The pool area/outside of hotel could use an update. Overall great, we have stayed a few times. The only downfall, is it seems like each time there has been more and more small children running around and crowding pool. The feel is like a more luxury hotel but with the amount of little kids screaming everywhere, it became frustrating when you want a relaxing vacation.

VIP didn’t do anything. Nothing offered. The items I would have them improve on would be their service. Parking attendants and baggage excellent. It took 20 or more minutes to get my drink, my daughter got her food first. Food service was slow. Bartending, took 12 min for them to even acknowledge us. It took 3 phone calls to get pillows and blankets for our pull out which I requested days before and day of. But at 9:30 at night had to call 3x. This should have already happened. Oh and the hair conditioner smells terrible. Other than that it was a good stay!

the grounds are AMAZING, which makes this place worth staying at, the vibe is great!, there was a wedding one day, the ability to be on an island and walk a few minutes to newport is wonderful, I LOVE newport and highly recommend this property, all that said it is a bit dated and not the most aesthetically pleasing--it was probably a modern property in the 70's, it feels like a true "resort" and not just a hotel

We recently stayed at the property and overall had a pleasant experience, but there were a few areas that left room for improvement. Check-in was smooth in terms of staff friendliness—the team was welcoming and helpful. However, we were not notified when our room was ready, and we had to follow up at the front desk after waiting past the 4 PM check-in time. We were eventually assigned a different room than originally planned. While the front desk agent reassured us that she personally liked the location of this alternate room, we were disappointed to find it was located at the farthest end of the property, in a corner, with a view of the parking lot. For the price point, we had expected something more private and scenic. While the team checked availability, we weren’t able to relocate. That said, the room itself was beautiful, well-appointed, and very comfortable—though the lack of privacy when the window shades were open was a drawback. The hotel’s pool and general location were highlights, and we enjoyed spending time in both. Unfortunately, our experience at the hotel restaurant did not meet expectations. The pretzel we ordered during a mid-afternoon visit was burnt, and our breakfast the following day was both very slow to arrive and underwhelming in taste and quality. Based on this, I wouldn’t recommend dining at the hotel restaurant. Birthday Trip!

Was at the Newport Harbor Island Resort for my birthday trip with friends. David, the manager, was amazing in ensuring we were placed in the beautiful room that we had booked and sending a little birthday surprise for it. My best friend and I loved our stay. The excellent service started with David and rounded around the hotel with the entire valet team (shoutout to our new besties) who took care of us, helped us so much with cars and bags, to the restaurant team at 1889 and the service members at the firepit. We loved it. We would return!

Dear David and the Hotel Management Staff, I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding our stay at the Newport Harbor Island Resort. What was meant to be a relaxing and memorable family vacation turned out to be stressful, frustrating, and, at times, deeply upsetting. I hope this message will be taken seriously, and that a formal review and appropriate compensation will be considered as a result. Lack of Orientation and Access to Amenities: Upon arrival, we were given no information whatsoever regarding the resort amenities, services, or even basic hotel features. We were later surprised to learn that the hotel charges a $67 per night resort fee, which supposedly covers services such as the shuttle, bikes, and boat to Bowman’s Wharf which we only found out about on our day of departure or the shuttle on the day we were sent a message it was not running or the bikes after they not being available on serval occasions. Had we been informed at check-in, we would have absolutely taken advantage of these offerings with our children. We also had no idea there was an indoor pool, and again, that’s something our kids would have enjoyed had it been communicated to us. There was a sign about s’mores nightly but we had no idea where they were and when we asked the gentleman in the front said yeah probably happening and somewhere on the lawn. Another advertised amenity my children would have loved to enjoy but we missed. There was no room service menu in our room,
