Room was booked for 4 adults. We checked in and there were only 2 sets of towels. Called for more and finally went to the desk to get some. Requested clean towels for the next day and again we had to ask for the correct number before we could Shower to go to a wedding. Very inconvenient.

I reserved a room with a king bed and a double sofa bed. When it was time to use the sofa bed it was the size of a twin. The employee working at the time swore all the sofa beds were double and that she had worked there for years. But after showing her the picture of the bed, she said “oh well, I guess they are not all double”. Later on she said that her co-worker said that their hotel calls a twin bed a double. When I tried to ask for a manager, nobody was available.

disappointing

The location is convenient, the pool was nice. The room size was ok, the refrigerator was missing all the shelves. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on, I debated going to sleep in my car, I was so uncomfortable. The toilet didn't flush and I had to keep the top of the tank off to mess with the chain the entire stay. I am in the area often I stayed here when they 1st opened they went down hill in a hurry, very disappointing.

Beautiful spot, great for what you're paying for! The staff are incredibly kind and quick to help. Checking in and out was a super smooth and easy process. The beds were quite comfortable, and we found everything to our liking. Our room had a slightly musty smell, so we opened the door to air it out a bit. Otherwise it was 100% lovely all around. Many thanks to the staff for such an enjoyable stay!!!

This was our second stay at the Sonesta. I think we were too exhausted from the trip the first time around to notice the obvious flaws that became apparent this second time around. The staff are always friendly which is a plus, but the rooms are kind of run down and musty as are the bathrooms. Rug in our room felt damp. No ventilation in the bathroom, rust stains in the shower. If you’re going to charge over $400 a night- you need to up your game a bit.

Average hotel stay, honestly wouldn’t come back. Upon check-in it seemed that we were disturbing the staff member from scrolling on his phone. He didn’t crack a smile, didn’t make us feel welcome to the hotel and when we asked for the free rollaway bed for our room that was specified in the reservation he said it wasn’t possible because it was a fire hazard so we had to sleep five people between two queen beds. Not one attempt was made to change rooms to accommodate us, even though he said other rooms were available, it would be a significant up charge. The area around hotel was decent enough, very close to Newport and good options for dining outside of Newport.
