This was our 5th trip to Margaritaville Orlando and we won’t be back. The specific room type that we reserved wasn’t available when we arrived. The room they put us in had black mold on the lamp shades and in the bathroom. The second room they gave us, the air didn’t work. The other guests were extremely loud late at night (music, parties, doors slamming). And at check out they charged us for 10 days worth of valet parking that we never used. The quality has gone down dramatically. Sad.

Staff not helpful, requested late check out as son’s birthday. They led me to believe that was ok and I needed to go to reception first thing following morning which I did only to be told no late check out option. Hotel nowhere near full, offered to pay. After haggling for 30 mins they reluctantly allowed an hour which wasn’t really much use. Poor communication, staff not motivated to find solutions, poor experience for a child’s birthday.

The property is fairly new, and the facilities are very nice. They generally have lots of options for families to take advantage of. My issue has to do with: 1. The staff: they do what they have to do, but they look like they don't want to be there. My check-in took over 20 minutes just because a printer was not working (can't you find another one?). When I asked about my VIP status, I was told the regular room I had reserved was booked. No option for upgrade was provided, or I was told that there are no upgradable rooms (be thoughtful about what you tell me in these cases). 2. The room: If this is a new facility, put some care into cleaning it. The rubber/plastic item at the bottom of the shower was showing signs of mold. 3. Food availability: I got to the hotel at around 9 PM. I ordered food from one of the restaurants that would make a delivery (no other option was provided). It took almost an hour to get the food, and believe me, it was not worth it. The calamari was like rubber, the mac and cheese was cold, and at least they did not mess up the Caesar salad (like they could mess this up). Not a. real fan of this property I would not go back to it.

My only complaint is really the housekeeping. I was there for a short amount of time and with two kids and they wouldn’t clean the room. I hit the button for them to service it, and I will see housekeeping in the floor so I assume they will get to it but didn’t. I went to front desk twice so I can get toilet paper and water and they really didn’t come until late my last night. I had to take my garbage to a dumpster outside the hotel, then I saw other people in my floor leaving it outside the door so we started doing that. It was just basic things that we needed and really they couldn’t attend to. It was a bit frustrating. Other than that the stay was good.

Has the potential to be good!

Inconsistency of standards exist in most areas. Rooms have a theme; some nice touches. Pillows not comfortable. Mattresses okay. Issue with some guests smoking cannabis on site. Not what I expect given it is illegal. Some workers on desks are clearly on commission. We asked for best price to a dinner show and the lady wanted to send me and my young family to a tour of a different hotel for two hours to get a discount. The pools are good but the rules are a little heavy. You can’t take any food and drink in. Bags are searched. I have never stayed in a hotel like it. You can’t move from pool to pool as they have different wrist bands. One lady on the the gate made me take my two year old out of her towel as towels must be returned. I said I would run it back but this was refused. The pool management is poor. We attended one pool that had 10 umbrellas to 100 loungers. Six umbrellas were unused outside a building. A helpful lady on the gate said she would need to ask her manager when I requested if one could be moved. It was declined. I requested the manager come to me to explain. She arrived and preceded to tell me that a booking was on in the conference building and the umbrellas could not be moved. I asked for a solution; she said it was ‘the design of the pool’ and she would look at it for the future. I checked and the conference building was not in use. Disappointed that a story was invented rather than help me. With better management, this could be a good hotel.

Everything was perfect, staff very friendly and professional, we traveled with our service dog, she had a blast… the walkable water park and the promenade with plenty options for eating and shopping makes you don’t want leave the area… 100 % recommendable for families

Bad customer service reception staff

The hotel itself is good, nice restaurant and good pool. However, when going to the pool they will only give you one towel per person, so if you are going to the pool in advance of the rest of your family, you only get one towel, which makes it almost impossible to then get enough sun lingers together. There are not enough Sun loungers with umbrellas, as a great deal of space is taken up by cabanas, putting profitability over general customer service. Whenever we went to reception on various occasions, staff couldn’t have been more unhelpful. Rather than go out of there way to help you out, everything seemed like an inconvenience. We have stayed at various hotels in Florida and our experience here couldn’t have been more different, and not in a good way. Reception staff could do with going on a customer service course and visit other hotels to see and learn what good customer services looks like.

I booked and paid for a King Rm for my Anniversary when I arrived I was told that it was not available I asked how was they going to compensate for the inconvenience and was told that I would receive a $75 credit but that did not happen
