This is a mostly nice facility with obnoxious policies strictly enforced by a cold staff. At check-in, one gets recited a list of things not included in the room charge. Check out time is 11, earlier than any other place I've stayed in Central America. If you're not out by 11, I was told, I'd be charged $20/hour for time after that. The hotel owners know quite well that it's infeasible to do anything on the lake with confidence in returning in time to prepare to leave by 11. And they know that midday shuttles pickup at 12 or 12:30. I went to use the pool in the morning, but the water was freezing and bugs hadn't been skimmed off the top. The jacuzzi is not hot, not clean, not attractive. The concierge is not very helpful in planning an outing on the lake. My room was very nice, with a balcony overlooking the lake.

I hate giving places bad reviews but this is not a 4 star hotel. More like a 2 star without A/C. I read a review that said you could get a portable one we could not for some reason. Also says staff speaks English this was not the case for me with every staff member I talked to. Break fast is pricy for area but good. Gym was pretty weak. Pool is okay but pretty dirty. Not enough laying down pool chairs at all. The beds were very hard. The bathroom was great fresh and clean. There is no real hotub. You have to reserve it and it’s nasty.

This was a great stay! My boyfriend also asked the front desk if they can make him a bouquet for my 30th birthday and he surprised me with it! The bouquet was beautiful!!! All of the staff are friendly and helpful.
