Had a lovely stay & enjoyed walking on the nearby beach and grounds of the hotel with my dog. Will come back again. Only problem was the bread at breakfast, did not like the consistency of either the brown or white bread. Could do with some more choice for breakfast ie fresh fruits, ie prunes with juice etc & more yoghurts & croissant choice. Thanks.

Holiday for relaxation

Thoroughly enjoyed but had inner and outer ear infections after using pool.

Nice hotel, needs a little updating.

Overpriced as far as rooms go, lovely location, the leisure centre is its Jewel in the crown as it's fantastic. Overall I would recommend.

chill out break

Was very pleased with our choice of hotel. Had a few reservations prior to going about service levels re: other reviews on hotel, none of which proved to be founded during our stay. Staff service was excellent & very friendly, food was served promptly & was of excellent quality. I did have to ask for bed to be sorted as was made up as a double & I had booked a twin room for my daughter and I, but this was quickly remedied. Spa was great, although no towels available when we went in on the Monday morning, luckily we did have one with us each, but couldn't use them on the lounger or it would have been too wet to dry ourselves with afterwards, hence the lower rating on amenities, for a small lack of comfort factor. Regarding the room, it was lovely, however it did have my one pet hate, a shower curtain rather than a screen over bath, which is why I rated it slightly lower for comfort. Breakfast was also good and plentiful & the setting was amazing, so all in all a great few days, would definitely go back to this hotel again if in the area, which was really good for walks & beaches. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a break in this lovely area of Wales.

Dissapointing

There is a major issue with general customer service at this hotel. The spa and visual appearance are excellent, however we were not happy with the restaurant service nor the housekeeping. Key issues on the room were: Leaking shower Difficult to flush toilet Only a 4' bed, not a double and it was uncomfortable Carpets were not hoovered daily Curtain pellets could not have been cleaned for months. Why I was paying £5 per day for cleaning aft my dog I do not know!! Customer Service issues: 1 hour wait for food in the restaurant Non existent breakfast one morning Management did not respond to complaints after a face to face meeting Clearly this hotel does not deserve its 4* rating, which is a pit because Location and the adjoining Spa were excellent. The only upside for us was the 1 waitress who had the ability to manage taking orders and efficiently executing them and the night porter who tried albeight without success, to get the heating working.other than that not worth staying there again

Not for light sleepers

First the positives - the restaurant/ food was good, the pool/ spa was very good. The big negative was the fundamental of the holiday i.e. the room. Arrived with bed side light not working and/or no bulbs. Sash window was broken and could only be kept open by propping it up (which the housekeeper did one day leaving the ground floor room theoretically accessible to anyone). The biggest problem was however that being an old "house" every time anyone walked about in the room above, the noise was horrendous with 3 out of 5 nights being woken between 5-00 and 6-00 am. This was reported twice to hotel staff with promises that something would be done. We are still waiting! Not the relaxing holiday we were expecting and not a hotel that we would use again
