I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown, and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. Upon entering my room, I was immediately hit with a musty smell, which I soon discovered was due to mold and peeling plaster that adorned the walls. It was quite unsettling, and I was surprised that the hotel did not address these issues properly. The hallways did not fare much better; they had an unpleasant odor, and I noticed dirty laundry left out in the open, which gave off a very unwelcoming vibe. While I must commend the hotel staff for their friendliness and willingness to assist, the state of the hotel itself was a significant letdown. I decided to cut my stay short and move out on the second day because the mold was severely affecting my allergies. Although the location is great, being central and convenient, it just didn’t make up for the uncomfortable conditions I encountered. I believe that this hotel needs immediate renovations and attention to ensure the health and comfort of its guests. Overall, I would not recommend staying here, especially considering the price.

I’d booked two rooms expecting them to be adjacent and connecting. They were neither. Originally they were not even on the same floor. I was able to get one moved, but it was far down the hall. I’d added my son’s name to one room so he could check in if he arrived first, since we were traveling separately. The front desk was unable to locate his reservation so I had to get up from my nap and go back downstairs to deal with it. The rooms were so small that my mother, 95, had to partially collapse her rollator in order to cross the room. And when we tried to use the WiFi, we could not log in, and the desk staff were useless. We had to spend almost an hour on the phone with foreign tech support, something that’s never happened to me before, anywhere in the world.
