The gorgeous country villa Finca Can Suau is situated just outside the Port of Pollença and enchants visitors with a dreamlike pool area and unique interior decoration. The holiday home tastefully integrates antique furniture and rustic architecture with modern touches and consists of a living room with a cosy fireplace, a very well-equipped kitchen with beautiful artisan tiles, 4 bedrooms (2 with 2 single beds and 2 with double beds) as well as 3 bathrooms. The country villa can therefore accommodate 8 people. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a washing machine, satellite television, a baby cot and a highchair. The absolute highlight of the property, however, is the expansive and luxurious outdoor area, which is truly an oasis for visitors. A 120m2 pool recreates the atmosphere of a private cove, surrounded by boulders and palm trees and boasting a small fountain in the center. Visitors are invited to refresh themselves on warm afternoons and relax in the sun loungers on the terrace around the pool. On the covered, furnished terrace, guests can dine together in the fresh air and look out over the beautifully-landscaped garden, which also features a ping pong table to ensure fun for everyone in the group. A large selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes is in the centre of Port de Pollença, about 5 minutes away by car. To hear the sound of waves rolling on to the shore, visitors only need to drive 7 minutes (about 3km) to the main beach of Port de Pollença. Here guests can relax on the white sands and admire the turquoise waters of the sea.

Great pool but house not so great

The host was excellent and very responsive to a couple of issues that arose. The pool is wonderful and great for kids. If the house were updated and some minor renovations carried out this would be an amazing villa. However the house is not as bright and airy as the photographs show and when we arrived it had a musty feel to it. The shutters were all closed on arrival but even opening them and the windows the house still felt dark and musty. The house is also in need of updating particularly the beds, bed linen and pillows. This makes sleeping uncomfortable. The AC in the bedrooms works well though. There is a beautiful terrace but the plastic furniture looks cheap and is uncomfortable to sit on which is such a pity. There is nothing other than sheets and bath towels provided so you need your own pool towels and or beach towels. There were no cleaning products provided so on arrival we had to go to the shop and purchase everything such as bin bags, toilet paper, sponges for the kitchen sink, bathroom soap, washing up liquid etc. which I have never experienced in a villa rental before. This must lead to terrible waste at every turnover if everything is being thrown in the bin. Mosquitos are a big problem in this part of the island and to be fair the host has provided mosquito nets on the beds. I don’t think I would stay here again unless an upgrade and renovation of the house was carried out.
