This is my second time staying here. I am a Chef and I go up in the Winter to go to all of my favorite restaurants. This hotel is in the best location to get to so many great locations. The staff is extremely friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was so good i got it 3 days in a row. I cant wait to go back!

Great hotel

This was our first stay at the Portland Harbor Hotel. The location was in the heart of the old port making it a great starting point for all our adventures. We liked the easy access to parking and all the little perks offered within the hotels.

The hidden fees and tricks to get you to stay at the hotel are absurd. We go to Portland to get out and go to different places. In my opinion, The Harbor View Hotel has decided to make you pay for food anddrinks even if you dont want to eat there.

We loved our suite with fireplace and hot tub. Staff was very nice and transparent with fees. Free pantry of items was a nice added benefit. Parking and resort fee were expensive. Info on room QR code was not updated. So the Sunday brunch till 3pm was actually only until 11AM. We will stay there again.

Only okay but overpriced

The best way to describe this hotel is it's okay, it's not overly good or bad but charges more than similar quality hotels for nothing extra. That's before the additional amenity fee, even though I read through this on their website, reception could not clearly explain how this worked. The room was okay pretty basic and the bathroom was dated.

I booked this hotel for my wife to do a solo getaway for two nights. The property itself was lovely and clean and very comfortable. However, the pricing was very confusing and not well communicated. Parking is listed on their website as being $20/day for new England’s, but that only applies if you book through them, which isn’t explicitly stated anywhere. In addition there is a $35/day amenities charge, which different staff gave conflicting information about - whether it applies every day or only per night, whether it covers gratuity, etc Dinally, key cards repeatedly stopped working and had to be remade (once at checkin and again on the second day.) Overall the hotel is well maintained and in a perfect location, but the experience with added fees and unclear policies was frustrating.
